Carlisle: Welcome to my exhibition! I am really excited for us to show the journeys we participants in the Sync residence have embarked on. Each participant’s journey has inspired me to include their stories in my artwork.

Carlisle: As the story progresses, we’ll see that both children experience a tragedy, but it ends with finding hope in resilience. This is a metaphor for many of us who are Deaf and/or disabled. We have gone through a long history of attempts to destroy us, drive us away, divide us into isolation, and deprive us of our equal rights to education and access. Despite that, we are still here—still stubborn, still strong. We keep growing again and again; they cannot completely destroy us. So that’s the main artwork I created, along with other small pieces that emerged from playing around and experimenting. So, enjoy!

Last but not the least illustration is now out!

It’s been absolutely an honor having working on this since 2018 featuring 7 characters plus new one every year since, totaling 14 characters. Some are based on real life like the amazing Drago Rentería. He and I have created these characters together. We hope to show a reflection of the wide variety of beautiful individuals in the Deaf LGBTQIA+ community.

Happy National Deaf LGBTQ+ Awareness Week!

We’re excited to reveal the final version of the National Deaf LGBTQ Awareness Week cartoon logo!

Can you spot the new character?

Meet Drago and his service dog, Magnus! Drago is the Founder and Executive Director of the Deaf Q***r Resource Center (DQRC) and the main driving force behind . After nearly 40 years of service to the Deaf LGBTQ communities (30 of those specifically with DQRC), Drago is hoping to finally retire this year.

With this final character update, this fun logo series is now complete; every character in the logo has been replaced once since the logo’s inception in 2018.

All previous versions of this logo, from 2018 to the present, will remain available for use going forward until a future committee decides to create an all-new one.

A huge thanks to the incredibly talented Carlisle Robinson of Carodoodles for creating and updating the logo over the past 8 years! We absolutely love every single one of them! Thank you, Carlisle!
