Lesson for April 4, 2026

THE RESURRECTION OF CHRIST

Scripture reading: Matt. 28:1-15.

Memory verse: Matt. 28:6.

1. What answer did Jesus give to those who sought a sign from Him? Matt. 12:40.

2. When was our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ resurrected? Matt. 28:1-6.

Note. Thus, we see that He fulfilled His one sign that He was the true Messiah. He was crucified in the midst of the week, thus causing the sacrifice and the oblation to cease (Dan. 9:27), and He arose in the end of the Sabbath as it began to dawn (Greek: draw on) toward the first day of the week.

3. What other visits were made to His tomb? Mark 16:1-6; Luke 24:1-12.

4. To whom did our Lord Jesus appear first after He had risen? Mark 16:9.

Note. “Was risen” is in the past perfect tense and means some time in the past. “Early the first day of the week” tells the time that He appeared to Mary Magdalene. The comma apparently is misplaced as we also find in Acts 19:12 Punctuation is not a part of inspiration, as the ancient manuscripts were not punctuated.

5. What is John’s account of the appearance of our Lord Jesus Christ? John 20:1-6.

6. Were there several visits made to the tomb according to the reports given by the writers of the Gospels? Luke 24:22-24.

Note. Here we note in verse 23 the word “also” which shows that both companies of these women had been to the tomb and had “also” seen the angels. Then some went again and found it “even as they had said.” Hence there are three visits recorded in the narrative. At a time of such great excitement, it is quite possible that there were many more visits made to the empty tomb.

7. How can John 19:31 be explained, which says He was hanging on the cross just before the Sabbath? Lev. 23:4-7.

Maelezo. Hivyo tunaona kwamba alitimiza ishara yake moja kwamba alikuwa Masihi wa kweli. Alisulubishwa katikati ya juma, hivyo akasababisha dhabihu na sadaka kukoma (Dan. 9:27), naye alifufuka mwishoni mwa Sabato ilipokuwa inakaribia kufika (Kiyunani: kufika) siku ya kwanza ya juma.

3. Je, ziara nyingine zilifanywa katka kaburi Lake? Marko 16:1-6; Luka 24:1-12.

4. Je, Bwana wetu Yahshua alimtokea nani kwanza baada ya kufufuliwa? Marko 16:9.

Maelezo. “Alifufuliwa” iko katika wakati timilifu na inamaanisha muda fulani uliopita. “Mapema siku ya kwanza ya juma” inasema wakati alimtokea Maria Magdalena. Mkomo unaonekana umewekwa vibaya k**a tunavyoona pia katika Matendo. 19:12. Alama za uandishi si sehemu ya msukumo wa kimbinguni, kwani maandishi ya kale hayakuwa na alama za uandishi.

5. Je, habari ya Yohana juu ya kuonekana kwa Bwana wetu Yahshua Masihi ni ipi? Yohana 20:1-6.

6. Je, kulikuwa na ziara nyingi zilizofanywa kwa kaburi kulingana na ripoti zilizotolewa na waandishi wa Injili? Luka 24:22-24.

Maelezo. Hapa tunagundua katika mstari wa 23 neno “pia” linaloonyesha kwamba makundi yote mawili ya wanawake hawa walikuwa kwenye kaburi na walikuwa “pia” wameona malaika. Kisha wengine walikwenda tena na kukuta “k**a walivyosema.” Kwa hivyo kuna ziara tatu zilizoandikwa katika masimulizi. Katika wakati wa msisimko mkubwa hivyo, inawezekana sana kwamba ziara nyingi zaidi zilifanywa kwa kaburi tupu.

7. Je, Yohana 19:31 inawezaje kuelezwa, inayosema alikuwa akining’inia msalabani kablaya Sabato? Law. 23:4-7.

Lesson for February 7, 2026

THE GOOD AND THE BAD FIGS

Scripture reading: Jeremiah 24.

Memory verse: Jeremiah 24:7.

1. Of what are the good figs a type? Jer. 24:5-6.

2. Were the good figs to receive better treatment than the vile ones? Verse 7.

3. What portion of Judah was represented by the vile figs? Verse 8.

4. How were the vile figs to be punished, and would any be left? Verse 9 and 10.

Note: From the forgoing scripture it is very plain that there were two different classes of the Jews that into the exile, and promises were different to each class. He is still able to separate the good from the bad, just as was done back there and He is doing the same today.

5. What class of Jews was to be selected to build the waste cities and do the very work that we see going on here now? Jeremiah 24:1-7.

6. How many blows were struck in destroying the kingdom of Judah? Ezekiel 21: 25-27. Compare 2 Chronicles 36:15-19.

Note: It is said of the gentile enemies of Israel: “As thou hast done it shall be done into thee.” - Obadiah 1:15; Joel says: “I will return your recompense upon your own head.” -Joel 3:7

7. In this destruction of the kingdom of Israel 2,500 years ago, were those represented by the evil figs taken away first or last? Compare Jer. 24:8 with 2 Chronicles 36:11,12,16.

Note: Zedekiah and his princes were the evil figs, and they were left, while the good figs were removed, just as it is going to be in the end, the good will be taken first.

8. When were the good figs, including Daniel and his companions, and many others taken away? Daniel 1:1-6.

Note: They were removed with King Jehoiakim and not left at Jerusalem when the terrible destruction came in which men, women and children were given to the sword alike.

9. What especially is said of Daniel concerning his conduct and diet? Daniel 1:7-8.

10. Before the great destruction of the wicked at the end of the gentile period, will the righteous be gathered first? Revelation 14:18.

11. After the cluster of the fruit is gathered then what happens to the wicked compared to the vine of the earth? Verse 19 and 20.

12. Where are we told the righteous will be, who have the victory over the beast and his image, when the plagues fall? Revelation 15:1-6.

Note: Notice particularly that verse 5 says: “After this”, that is, after the saints were seen in this place which appeared like a sea of glass to the prophet, he saw the angels come forth with the seven last plagues – Verse 6. Notice also that the battle of Armageddon comes at the time of the 6th plague. - Rev 16:12-15. Hence the righteous are seen assembled somewhere in deliverance from these plagues. Nothing is said where this place is, neither does it say they were caught up as we hear it so often quoted.
