๐Ÿš€ REFUGEE SKILLS & EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM โ€“ 2026 INTAKE NOW OPEN (MWIKI โ€“ KASARANI)

INDUS CONNECT (Skill-Up Kenya) in partnership with Promise of Hope CBO โ€“ Mwiki is officially rolling out the 2026 Refugee Skills Development Program after a successful pilot in 2025 that empowered dozens of young people and families with real, usable skills and job pathways.

This year we are targeting 200 refugees for practical, employment-focused training in:

๐Ÿ’ป Computer Literacy & Digital Skills (office work, online jobs & study support)
๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Functional English Communication (workplace & daily life confidence)
๐Ÿš— Driving & Road Safety Training (licensed income opportunities)

Position : Cleaner/Messenger

Responsibilities:
1. Clean and sanitize clinic rooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas daily.
2.Perform minor maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs or reporting repair needs.
3. Assist with setting up rooms for meetings, training sessions, or events.
4. Deliver documents, packages, and supplies to designated locations within and outside the clinic.

Attributes
1. Minimum of secondary education.
2. Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks and lift/move light to moderate loads.
3. Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
4. Reliable, punctual, and hardworking.

๐ŸŒ Empowering Refugees Through Skill Development! ๐ŸŒ

We are excited to announce the launch of the Refugee Training Program in Kasarani, Nairobi, in partnership with Grace and Fellowship Church in Kasarani, Santon; as part of Skill-Up Kenya's โ€œIndus Connect Initiative.โ€

This initiative is designed to empower Burundi, Rwandese, Sudanese, and Congolese refugees aged 18-35 with short professional skill training to enhance self-reliance and productivity.

๐ŸŽ“ Training Areas Include:

CCTV Installation
Mobile & Electronics Repair
Hairdressing & Beauty
Caregivers Training
Computer Packages
English Language Skills

These skills will not only equip the participants with practical expertise but will also open doors to entrepreneurial opportunities and better access to the job market.

๐Ÿ‘ฅ The first cohort will include 100 refugees, and training officially begins on 15th February. This program aims to create a brighter future by helping refugees gain the tools they need to succeed and build a self-sufficient life.
