Maasai Mara University Innovation Week also featured a three-day training session led by Odoo, an open-source suite of business applications that helps organizations manage operations such as CRM, eCommerce, accounting, inventory, sales, and project management on a single platform.

During the training, students and faculty members participated in hands-on sessions covering website creation, product management, sales and order processing, and profit-and-loss analysis using the Odoo platform.

The program concluded with a competitive challenge in which students worked in groups of three to solve real-world business case studies. Among the participating teams, Team Borakazi emerged as the winner after proposing a solution to the problem of surplus milk production and low demand in Limuru. The team developed the concept of “Maziwa Bora Co-op” and used various Odoo applications to create, manage, and market the product effectively.

The winning team comprised Maitano Felistus, Peter Kimani, and Yvonne Ngina. As part of their award, they received gift packages and a fully sponsored visit to the Odoo offices in Nairobi for advanced training on the application.

This reinforces the Maasai Mara University Vision, which focuses on innovation as an integral component in empowering the community.
