We are pleased to announce that Dr. Jong-Hyeok Choi, a graduate of our lab, has joined the Korea Railroad Research Institute (KRRI, 한국철도기술연구원) as an AIX Engineer. Dr. Choi completed both his M.S. and Ph.D. under the supervision of Prof. Aziz Nasridinov, where he made contributions to the fields of databases and AI. The Korea Railroad Research Institute is a prestigious research institute dedicated to advancing railway technologies and intelligent transportation systems in Korea.

This work was conducted in collaboration with Prof. Md Azher Uddin from Heriot-Watt University, Dubai Campus. Scientific Reports is a Q1 journal published by Springer Nature and is ranked within the top 18% in the Multidisciplinary Sciences field.

Our paper, “A Lightweight Safety Helmet Compliance Detection via Multimodal Fusion,” has been accepted for presentation in the Student Abstract Program at AAAI 2026. The paper is authored by Jeong Hwan Ryu (undergraduate intern) and Azimjon Akhmatov (Master’s student), under the supervision of Professor MD Uddin Azher (Heriot-Watt University, Dubai) and Professor Aziz Nasridinov. AAAI is one of the top-tier conferences in artificial intelligence. The conference will be held in Singapore from January 20 to 27, 2026.

We are proud to share that Dr. Jeong-Hun Kim, a graduate of our lab, has been appointed a tenure-track professor at Kunsan National University, Korea. Dr. Kim completed his master’s and Ph.D. under the supervision of Prof. Aziz Nasridinov and made significant contributions to the fields of unsupervised machine learning and multi-modal AI. Kunsan National University is a public university located in Gunsan, in western South Korea
