Dr. Madhubhash*tha Herath attended the 5th International Conference on Geotechnics for Sustainable Infrastructure Development (GEOTEC HANOI 2023) as a speaker. The conference was held on 14-15 December 2023 in Hanoi, Vietnam.

Congratulations our New Vice-Chancellor!

Professor Kolitha Bandara Wijesekara is the senior most academic in the Uva Wellassa University.
He is a professor in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology and is the first professor of UWU history.
He is an old boy of Kingswood College Kandy. He obtained his Bachelors degree specialized in Botany and Masters degree from University of Peradeniya. Then He completed his PhD in Georg August University, Germany.
He served 17 Years of service to UWU and a huge contribution was given to the development of UWU. He was the head of the department of Science and Technology for 6 years. He is the founder Director of the Center for Open and Distance Learning UWU and founder dean of the Faculty of Technological Studies UWU.
He is a chivalrous, respectful and humble family member in the UWU Family.
