FREELANCE QUANTITY SURVEYOR - RESIDENTIAL GROUNDWORKS - CHESHIRE - UP TO £370 PER DAY (DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE)
I am currently recruiting for a Freelance Quantity Surveyor to work with a groundworks subcontractor based in Cheshire.
THE ROLE
Working on JCT and bespoke D&B contracts, you will be responsible for administering the contract, take-offs, variations and cost reporting.
You will be delivering packages between £3 -10 million, predominately for Residential Developers, but also on Commercial Build projects.
The suitable candidate will be have the opportunity to work within a busy Commercial team, based on groundworks in the North West.
You will work closely with the client and the sub-contractor chain initially focusing on procurement, right the way through to final accounts.
You will report into the lead Surveyor who will be there to support you.
You will be required to work as the project/ senior lead surveyor, running on 2 -3 groundworks / civil engineering projects at the same time.
Negotiate and place subcontract orders on a competitive tender basis
You will have JCT D&B & NEC contract knowledge and experience
Maintain effective communications with contracts managers, project management and other associated disciplines.
All applicants must have a good understanding of building technology and construction processes
Essential experience - Strong IT skills, particularly Outlook Email, Calendar and Microsoft Excel
Provide commercial input to contacts with clients representatives.
Assist in drafting and promote usage of commercial procedures.
Provide input to risk profiling and management on projects.
Produce and negotiate insurance claims with insurers representatives.
Ensure the production of monthly cost and value reports, quarterly forecasts and cash-flow information and present them to senior management.
Final accounts
Monitor, reconcile and recharge any costs
THE CANDIDATE
The suitable candidate must have Residential groundworks experience with well-regarded House builders and must be based in the North West area.
Must have worked for a groundworks subcontractor
