​أقيمت الفعالية برئاسة رئيس المعهد، الدكتور أشكر عروس، وبحضور الدكتور حارث، عميد كلية الدراسات الإسلامية، كضيف شرف للمناسبة.

Career Guidance Programme for Final-Year CFS Students

The Faculty of Islamic Studies and the Career Guidance Unit jointly organised a Career Guidance Programme on 5 May 2026 at ADRT for third-year students of the Centre for Foundation Studies (CFS), who had recently sat for the GCE Advanced Level examination.

The guest lecturer for the programme was Prof. M. S. M. Aslam, Professor in Tourism Management, Department of Tourism Management, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka (SUSL). The session aimed to create awareness among students on selecting suitable degree programmes aligned with the vision and mission of Naleemiah Institute of Islamic Studies (NIIS).

A Q&A session followed the lecture, allowing students to clarify their queries and gain further insights.

Ash-sheikh Dr. H.L.M. Haris, Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Studies, welcomed the guest and introduced him to the audience, while Ash-Sheikh M.F. Zainul Hussain, Registrar, NIIS, delivered the vote of thanks.

It is also noteworthy that prior to the commencement of the session, the Rector met the guest lecturer and expressed his appreciation for his acceptance of the invitation and his valuable contribution to the programme.

Naleemiah Hosts the Fajr Council Training of Trainers (TOT) Programme

The Student Administration Unit and the Extracurricular Activities Unit jointly organised a special Training of Trainers (ToT) programme for Naleemiah students, which was conducted by the Fajr Council on 29 April 2026 at the Naleemiah Auditorium.

The session commenced with an address by the Rector, Ustadh A. C. Agar Mohamed, who outlined the key objectives of the programme. His remarks focused on three main areas: an introduction to the Fajr Council’s initiatives, insights to be gained from their approach, and guidance on how Naleemiah students can actively participate in and benefit from the initiative.

Mr. Nabeel Hamza, Founder and President of the Fajr Council, delivered an engaging session introducing the organisation, its mission, and its working approach. He shared an overview of the Council’s projects and achievements over the past two years, highlighting their impact and growth. He also motivated the students with a strong spiritual reminder on the importance of maintaining the five daily prayers. He concluded by inviting interested students to join the initiative and actively contribute to its efforts.

The programme served as a spiritually uplifting and motivational session, while also providing a platform for students to understand how they can contribute effectively at the community level.

Arabic Language Crash Course Concludes for CFS Third-Year Students

A special Arabic Language Crash Course, organised by the Institute of Arabic Language (IAL) for third-year students of the Centre for Foundation Studies (CFS), successfully concluded on 29 April 2026 at the IAL.

The course, which commenced on 26 January 2026, was designed for students who had recently completed their GCE Advanced Level examinations. The programme aimed to equip students with essential Arabic language skills and help them refresh their Arabic language knowledge.

The closing session featured student reflections, where participants shared their experiences and expressed the benefits gained from the programme.

Special gratitude is extended to Ash-Sheikh Dr. Ashkar Aroos, Ash-Sheikh M.J.M. Imthiyaz, and Ash-Sheikh M. Riyas for their dedicated efforts as instructors.

Action Plan 2026/27 Review and Approval Meeting

A meeting for the review and approval of the Action Plan 2026/27 was held on 21 April 2026, presided over by the Rector.

During the session, the divisions of Academic Affairs, General Administration, along with other key divisions and units of Naleemiah, presented their respective action plans, which were reviewed and duly approved. The discussion also took into consideration the Strategic Plan 2026–2030, ensuring that the annual action plans are aligned with the institution’s long-term strategic direction.

Opening of the Newly Renovated Canteen at Naleemiah

As part of expanding facilities for students and staff, the long-awaited canteen at the Naleemiah premises was officially opened on 22 April 2026 in the presence of the Rector and staff members.

While Naleemiah provides three daily meals through its kitchen and food services division, the canteen has been established as an additional facility, alongside the tuck shop, to cater to the daily needs and enhance the convenience of students, staff, and visitors.

The building, which previously existed on campus, has been fully renovated and upgraded into a modern canteen facility to serve the needs of the Naleemiah community and its visitors.

The event commenced with a brief session at the Masjid, where the Rector highlighted the purpose of this initiative and emphasised the importance of providing additional facilities to enhance student and staff welfare. He extended his sincere appreciation for the dedicated efforts of the masons and teams responsible for roofing, plumbing, wiring, welding, carpentry, and electrical work, which contributed to the successful completion of the renovation.

Special appreciation was extended to the Secretary of Administrative Affairs, Mr. M. I. Imdhad Ali, for his supervision and oversight of the project. The Rector also acknowledged the contributions of the Administrative Officer, Ash-Sheikh M. I. M. Rizwan, as well as the members of the General Administration Council (GAC) for their continued support in bringing the project to completion.

He also thanked architect Mr. Shaam Nizamuddeen and his team for their valuable design input and professional contribution to the successful planning and ex*****on of the renovation works.

The Rector further expressed his gratitude to the Naleemiah Alumni – Qatar Branch (NOBAQ) for their partial financial contribution towards this project.

The establishment of this canteen marks a significant step in enhancing campus facilities and providing added convenience to students, staff, and visitors.

Special Motivational Programme

A special motivational programme titled “Unarvai Unnai” was held on 10.4.2026 at the Naleemiah Auditorium. The session was conducted by Dr. M. Hussain Basha, a Psychologist, Special Educator, and Rehabilitation Professional from India.

The Rector graced the programme and delivered the welcome address.

The session was highly interactive, engaging participants in meaningful discussion and reflection.

During the programme, a set of Naleemiah publications was presented to Dr. M. Hussain Basha as a token of appreciation.

The programme was jointly organised by the Career Guidance Unit and the Academy for Development, Research and Training (ADRT).
