The Staff Development Centre proudly held the Inauguration Ceremony of the CTHE 2025 Batch, alongside the Certificate Awarding Ceremony for the CTHE 2024 Batch.

This special occasion marked the beginning of an exciting academic journey for the new batch and celebrated the achievements of the outgoing participants who successfully completed the Certificate in Teaching in Higher Education (CTHE) programme. The Chief Guest for the ceremony was Professor N.S. Cooray, Graduate School of International Relations, International University of Japan.

The Staff Development Centre recently conducted a highly engaging workshop titled "Beyond ChatGPT: AI for Research, Teaching, and Assessment."The workshop was conducted by Prof. Hiran Amarasekara, a giant in that field of expertise.

The session provided valuable insights into the practical use of AI tools in academic work โ€” from enhancing teaching methods to streamlining research and assessment practices.

We recently conducted a Water Safety Workshop at the swimming pool, focusing on essential tips and techniques to ensure safety in and around water.This workshop was conducted by the Life Saving Association of the university in collaboration with the Staff Development Centre.

Participants gained hands-on experience in basic rescue methods, swimming safety, and emergency response protocols.
