Successfully Concluded: The First OR Talk of 2026🎯✨

We are delighted to share that the first OR Talk of 2026, organized by the OR Society of the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science, University of Peradeniya, was successfully held on Friday, 8th May 2026.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Prof. Wei Wu for delivering an insightful and inspiring talk on “Bridging Classical Combinatorial Optimization and Modern AI Applications”. Successful Product Demonstration on Möbius & Maple! 🌟

On Friday, 20th February 2026, the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science, University of Peradeniya successfully hosted a product demonstration session on Möbius and Maple – exploring cutting-edge digital learning and assessment tools for modern mathematics education.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our resourceful keynote speakers Mr. Ujjwal Kandhari, Mr. Ranga W. Arachchi and Ms. K.S. Nithyashree for sharing their insights on digital assessment, interactive learning, computation, and student engagement made the session highly informative and engaging.

A Token of Appreciation for the Former Head of the Department💐🌟

The Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science, University of Peradeniya, recently hosted a tea party to appreciate the valuable service of Dr. Niluka Rodrigo, former Head of the Department. The event was graced by the presence of the Dean of the Faculty of Science, Prof. Sanath Rajapakse, the current Head of the Department, Dr. Rajitha Ranasinghe, and all academic staff members.

Heartfelt appreciation was extended to Dr. Niluka Rodrigo for her dedicated leadership and her significant contributions to the growth and academic excellence of the Department of Mathematics. The Department warmly wishes her every success in her future endeavors.
