Cuttington University, Suakoko Main Campus, successfully organized a Faculty Development Workshop on September 13, 2025, on the topic "Enhancing Test and Measurement through AI Tools in Higher Education." The workshop convened faculty members from all disciplines to delve into artificial intelligence's potential to revolutionize assessment designs and enhance teaching efficacy.
The session began with a presentation on how AI can be used in today's education and its ability to enhance test development, grading effectiveness, and student performance evaluation.
The faculty members participated in interactive sessions, discussing their experiences and views on merging digital tools with traditional assessment strategies.
Hands-on demonstrations and activities enriched the workshop further, enabling participants to try out AI-enabled platforms for quiz creation, plagiarism detection, and adaptive learning tests.
The workshop focused on how AI can enhance more equitable, better assessments at the same time as an easing administrative burden for teachers.
Ethical implications and balancing technology with human judgment were also discussed among participants.
Faculty members at the end of the program voiced a renewed commitment to embracing AI-powered methods to further academic rigor. The forum confirmed Cuttington University's commitment to innovation and excellence in higher learning.

Cuttington University has again left its imprint on Liberia's academic scene as its debate team triumphed at the 2025 Liberia National Inter-University Debate Championship.
The high-profile tournament, which was hosted this year on the Suakoko historic campus of Cuttington University in B**g County, featured some of the country's brightest scholars in a fierce intellectual and persuasive struggle.
The Cuttington team, led by Akim I. Gobeh and Dakamue Doetien, gave exceptional performances that won the team the highly sought championship trophy.
Though both debaters excelled during the competition, Akim's path was one of demonstration of resilience and determination.
Having made it to the finals in the previous two years and failed to win, Akim was not deterred by disappointment from defining his course. Rather, he employed each failure as a motivation tool to hone his skills and fortify his resolve.
This season, his steadiness and cool head under pressure were the pillars of team success. His logic was impeccable, his presentation firm, and his intensity unquestionable.
Akim's determination paid dividends, motivating his teammates as well as a lot of young Liberians who look up to him as an indication that determination equals victory.
Cuttington's victory highlights the tradition of excellence at the university, with Akim's tale reminding us all that hope, if kept alive, ultimately brings success.

Cuttington University Joins All Meaning Liberians in the Campaign Against Drug Abuse

Cuttington University has joined all well-meaning Liberians in a new campaign against the increasing menace of drug abuse throughout the country.
For realizing the destruction caused to Liberia's youth and future by drugs, the University has been spearheading awareness campaigns, organizing community forums, and collaborating with local organizations to educate, rehabilitate, and prevent drug abuse (this has actually been done through the arms of the Service-Learning Department of the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences).

Through student initiatives, public education, and institutional collaboration, Cuttington strives to empower youth with information, direction, and constructive alternatives. University President, faculty, and students are committed to drug-free campus living, mental wellness, and responsible generation-building.

This national campaign challenges all Liberians to stand against the drug scourge and fight for a safer, healthier nation. Together, we must defend our homes, communities, and aspirations.

Refutation of Recent Article Regarding Suspected Fraud by Cuttington University Student.

Cuttington University seriously objects to the title of the recent article on the arrest of Peter Willie, in which the institution is prominently linked to a reported fraudulent job scheme.
Although Mr. Willie is a student at Cuttington University, the article inappropriately and unnecessarily highlights his connection with the University in a way that implies institutional complicity, which is absolutely untrue.
The so-called activities of Mr. Willie were conducted independently, without the knowledge, approval, or involvement of Cuttington University.
Playing on the name of the university for the headline and for part of the content of the article—without making it clear that no role was played by the institution in the scam—has the potential to mislead the public and bring harm to the reputation of a university that has been maintaining academic excellence and ethics for more than a century.
In addition, the article does not demonstrate responsible journalism by not requesting the university's response or explanation before publication.
This lack is contrary to fundamental principles of fairness and balance in reporting.
Cuttington University has strong mechanisms in place to regulate student behavior, and any student found to be in contravention of such standards is subjected to appropriate disciplinary action consistent with due process.
We urge the media to be more careful and temperate in its reporting, particularly when it comes to educational institutions whose reputation affects thousands of students, teachers, alumni, and stakeholders.
The university is dedicated to maintaining the truth and upholding justice for any parties affected.
