Lofa County University Officially Takes Over Change Agent Network University in Fessibu

The Lofa County University has officially taken over the Change Agent Network University located in Fessibu Town, Zorzor District. The facility, valued at over USD 400,000, was officially turned over by the University’s Chief Executive Officer, Eric Woiwor, a son of Fessibu Town.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Isaac Podah praised Eric Woiwor for what he described as a patriotic decision to hand over the institution to Lofa County University. Dr. Podah reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to providing affordable and quality education to the citizens of Lofa County.
As part of the occasion, Dr. Podah announced 12 scholarships for students from Fessibu, with each quarter benefiting two students. He also disclosed six scholarships for the people of Woizu, who donated 150 acres of land for the university’s agricultural activities.
Dr. Podah, who also serves as the first president of Change Agent Network University, encouraged young people, especially those in Zorzor and Salayea districts, to take advantage of the educational opportunities being created.

For his part, Eric Woiwor commended the resilience and dedication of the teachers and students of the University, noting that they played a significant role in bringing the institution to its current level.
He revealed that his original dream was to officially launch the institution by 2030, but due to increasing calls and demand from the public, he decided to begin operations earlier. Woiwor stated that he could not ignore the appeals of young people to transfer the management of the institution to Lofa County University.
Despite turning over the institution to government management, Woiwor pledged to remain actively engaged with the university and promised to continue sourcing support and resources for the institution.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Lofa County University, Rev. Victor Padmore described the signing ceremony as a significant milestone in the history of the university.
Bishop Padmore emphasized that providing qualified, standard, and affordable education remains the core mission of the university. He also urged parents to ensure that politics does not derail the education of their children.
According to him, while parents and administrators may seek the support of politicians, they must ensure that politics does not undermine the true values and purpose of education.

The signing ceremony brought together local leaders from Zorzor and Salayea districts, residents of Woizu and Fessibu, students.

Following the signing, the Lofa County University is now expected to begin academic activities at its Fessibu campus next semester, which starts in September this year.

We are pleased to announce the signing of an agreement with A-1 Technical Engineering Solutions LTD to solarize Lofa County University with a 100kW solar power system.
After years of relying on costly generator operations, the university is now taking a major step toward sustainable and reliable clean energy. This project will significantly reduce energy costs, improve power stability, and create a more environmentally friendly learning environment for students, faculty, and staff.

This milestone reflects the growing commitment of the administration to improving the university’s infrastructure and demonstrates the power of innovation in transforming the University.

LCU Delegation Assesses CAN-U Facilities Ahead of Official Takeover in Fessibu

Ahead of the official turnover program, a high-powered delegation led by the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs Augustine M. Ngafua today visited the Change Agent Network University campus in Fessibu to assess its facilities.

The team toured several facilities on the campus, including classrooms, water, and sanitation facilities, among others. The delegation was welcomed by CAN-U Proprietor Eric Woiwor, who praised Lofa County University for its decision to take over the running of the institution.
Speaking during the assessment, Dr. Isaac Podah, President of Lofa County University, said the university is prepared to expand its activities across the county. Dr. Podah praised the resilience of the staff and students of Change Agent Network University and encouraged prospective students to enroll.
The LCU President also expressed gratitude to CAN-U CEO Eric Woiwor for his patriotic decision to hand over the institution’s facilities to Lofa County University.

Speaking on behalf of the students, President of the CAN-U Student Government, Fomba Dukuly, described Lofa County University’s decision to annex CAN-U as a dream come true for students. Fomba recounted the struggles students have endured over the years and praised the LCU administration for coming to their aid.

Change Agent Network University sits on 6.8 acres of land in Fessibu, Zorzor District, with a total property value of approximately $400,000.
Other members of the LCU delegation included Chief Accountant Joseph Kanneh, Director for General Services Musulyn Stryker Jallah, Human Resource Director John Lake, Agriculture College Instructor William Dorbor, Engineering College Instructor Miller Garmi, Assistant Dean for Extension Mohammed Sheriff, and Public Relations Officer Edward Kollile.

Lofa County University President Praises Faculty, Announces Plan to Solarize Campus.

The President of Lofa County University, Issac Podah, has praised members of the university’s faculty for their strong cooperation and collaborative efforts, which he says have contributed to the institution receiving outstanding recognition.

Speaking during a general faculty meeting held on the university campus, Dr. Podah commended both lecturers and administrative staff for their dedication and teamwork. He noted that their collective commitment has played a significant role in advancing the university’s academic and institutional development.
He urged faculty members to strengthen their commitment as a new semester begins, emphasizing the need to sustain the progress and achievements already made by the institution.
According to Dr. Podah, maintaining unity and professionalism among the faculty, will help Lofa County University continue to improve its academic standards and expand opportunities for students across the region.

Meanwhile, Dr. Podah disclosed that, as part of efforts to improve learning conditions and address ongoing electricity challenges at the university, the administration is working toward solarizing the campus. He revealed that funding for the solar energy project has already been secured from the Government of Liberia.

The President expressed optimism that the solar initiative, once implemented, will enhance teaching, research, and administrative operations while also reducing dependence on costly fuel-powered generators.

Lofa County University wishes to inform all immediate past graduates that their degrees are now ready for collection, starting with the Nursing Department.

All graduates are required to be financially cleared with the administration prior to collecting their degrees. Furthermore, payment of alumni fees is mandatory.
