✨ A Memorable Chapter in the Journey of VIT Mauritius ✨

VIT Mauritius was honoured to welcome its distinguished leadership from India during our Annual Day celebrations, marking the completion of our first year of operations.

The presence of Dr. G. Viswanathan, Founder and Chancellor of VIT, along with Dr. Sekar Viswanathan and Dr. Sandhya Pentareddy, Pro-Chancellors of VIT Mauritius, made the occasion especially meaningful for our students, faculty, and the entire VIT Mauritius community.

A key highlight was the opportunity for our students to showcase innovative projects in Computer Engineering and Civil Engineering, reflecting their creativity, problem-solving skills, and enthusiasm for applying engineering knowledge to real-world challenges.

Dr. Vijayakumar Chandrasekaran, Vice-Chancellor of VIT Mauritius, presented the Annual Day Report, “Milestones, Memories and Momentum,” highlighting the academic activities, student achievements, projects, research, internships, and campus initiatives that have shaped the journey of VIT Mauritius.

The leadership appreciated the dedicated efforts of Dr. Vijayakumar Chandrasekaran and his team for the progress achieved in just one year since the launch of the first programmes. Dr. G. Viswanathan shared a vision of VIT Mauritius growing into a campus welcoming students from different countries, while Dr. Sekar Viswanathan and Dr. Sandhya Pentareddy appreciated and encouraged the students for their achievements and active participation across curricular, co-curricular, research, internship, and project activities.

Dr. Syed Ibrahim, Dean, VIT Mauritius, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the leadership, faculty, students, and everyone who contributed to the success of the event.

With the second-year intake doubling and students joining from 14 states across India, VIT Mauritius continues to grow as a diverse and vibrant academic community.

🌊 Connecting Knowledge with Real-World Engineering

At VIT Mauritius, we believe that learning from experts helps broaden perspectives and inspire future engineers. 🎓

Our Civil Engineering students had the privilege of participating in an engaging guest lecture that brought valuable real-world perspectives on reservoir sedimentation and its significance in water resources and engineering practice.

The session encouraged our students to look beyond textbooks, understand the practical challenges faced by engineers, and appreciate how engineering knowledge can contribute to addressing practical challenges.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Dr. Umesh Kumar Singh, Scientist–C, National Institute of Hydrology (NIH), Roorkee, India, for sharing his expertise and making the session an enriching educational experience for our students. 👏

We continue to create opportunities that foster curiosity, strengthen knowledge, and shape tomorrow’s engineers. ✨
