Secretariat of Youth Cultivation (SOC) is a newly established club in MMU Cyberjaya with the core objective to bring together all talent regardless of races and nationalities. The idea to create this club is from the lacking of people with basic daily life skills and events. Generally, the numbers of students in Multimedia University Cyberjaya is around 7,000 approximately but it was very difficul
t to know how many people actually knew on how to handling basic skills of life and events. By time, the numbers of students with this quality are decreasing. After going through lots of discussion, we found out that the main reason is because uninterested of joining an events and unbalanced commitments in their university life. Because some or almost half of the students doesn’t like or interested to join club activities and University activities. Hence, SOC was created to nurture and install the sense of
Responsibilities, awareness and willingness to learn and expand their basic skill while contributing back to the society. The five core base in SOC are Communication Skills, Voluntary & Charity Involvement, Outdoor & Recreational Activities, Life & Persuasions Skills, and finally Modern & Progressive Skills. These five core base will help MMU develop and train the students of MMU Cyberjaya which in line with some of the most important mission of MMU which is to produce students with not only excellent in their results, but well-equipped individuals with highly praised skills in any areas to ensure their readiness to face the student life and working era. Not only that, these will also help in realizing the government calls for making Malaysia a well-developed country with high competency human resources which refer the the students nowadays that someday will replace majority of the market and drive the country to a better future. As SOC is being established, we will be looking for partnership and sponsorship to bring forward the agendas of enhancing student’s leadership skill throughout the year. In addition, SOC will play their role in encouraging a positive vibes among members and with other clubs as well as MMU staffs to create a better environment for students to develop their talents regardless of races, nationalities, interest and backgrounds.
