On 12 & 14 May 2026, an academic visit session involving students from the BPE4533 Industrial Control & Automation course was conducted at the Machining Lab, Faculty of Manufacturing and Mechatronic Engineering Technology (FTKPM).

The visit involved students from the Bachelor Degree of Industrial Technology Management (ITM), Faculty of Industrial Management. Throughout the session, students were exposed to various industrial technologies and equipment including CNC machines, injection moulding machines, and several automated machines commonly used in modern manufacturing industries.

The programme aimed to provide practical exposure to students on manufacturing technologies and industrial automation applications, in line with current learning needs and the advancement of Industry 4.0 (IR4.0).

Special appreciation is extended to Dr. Asrul Adam for sharing valuable knowledge, insights, and hands-on industrial exposure throughout the visit session.

It is hoped that programmes like this will continue to enhance students’ understanding and interest in industrial technology and real-world industrial practices.

UMPSA and UTHM Strengthen Academic Collaboration Through Reciprocal Guest Lecturing Programme

Fakulti Pengurusan Teknologi Dan Perniagaan, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia UTHM and Fakulti Pengurusan Industri, Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) successfully organised a Reciprocal Guest Lecturing Programme aimed at strengthening academic collaboration, knowledge sharing, and teaching excellence between both institutions. The programme was conducted in two phases, involving UMPSA lecturers visiting UTHM on 21–22 April 2026, followed by the reciprocal visit by UTHM lecturers to UMPSA on 11–12 May 2026.

The initiative involved courses related to manufacturing and industrial engineering, namely Production Planning and Control, Quality Control, and Manufacturing Technology. Through this programme, students gained wider academic exposure and opportunities to learn from lecturers and experts from partner universities, enriching their learning experience through diverse perspectives and industry-related knowledge.

This collaboration reflects the strong commitment of both universities in enhancing the quality of teaching and learning through academic networking, exchange of expertise, and collaborative engagement among lecturers and students.

The Faculty successfully organised a sharing session titled “Beyond Graduation: Building Your Career at the Intersection of Supply Chain and Sales” featuring UMPSA Business Engineering alumna, Ms. Eing Gaik Chin, on 13 May 2026.

The session highlighted the importance of combining supply chain and sales knowledge to build a competitive advantage in today’s B2B industry landscape. Drawing from her international working experience in China, the speaker shared valuable insights on adaptability, continuous learning, and the importance of industry exposure in shaping professional growth.

Students also gained practical advice on internships, employer expectations, and essential industry skills such as Excel, ERP/SAP, AI, negotiation, and communication. The session concluded with an inspiring reminder for fresh graduates to embrace their early career journey as an important phase for learning, growth, and self-development. 🌍📈

Tahniah dan syabas diucapkan kepada pelajar Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) atas pencapaian cemerlang dalam Program Cashflow Gameboard – ASEAN University Cashflow Challenge peringkat Zon Pantai Timur yang telah berlangsung di Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin pada 12 Mei 2026. 🎉✨

UMPSA diwakili oleh tujuh orang pelajar Ijazah Sarjana Muda Teknologi Kewangan dan seorang pelajar Sarjana Pengurusan Projek bersama mentor, Datin Norazidah Shamsudin.

🏆 Nurhafid Fikri Mu’azamir telah dinobatkan sebagai Champion
🥉 Shukiranessh A/L Uma Mahesh p**a berjaya meraih gelaran 2nd Runner Up

Selain itu, Nurhafid Fikri Mu’azamir, Shukiranessh A/L Uma Mahesh dan Nur Fatin Hayati Abdullah turut terpilih mewakili Zon Pantai Timur ke pertandingan akhir yang dijadualkan berlangsung pada Oktober 2026.

Penyertaan seperti ini membuktikan bahawa pelajar FIM bukan sahaja belajar teori di dalam kelas, malah turut aktif menyertai pertandingan, simulasi kewangan dan aktiviti luar akademik bagi meningkatkan kemahiran membuat keputusan, komunikasi, pemikiran kritikal dan pengurusan kewangan sebenar.

Alhamdulillah, around 200 Industrial Technology Management (ITM) and Project Management (PM) students joined the Industrial Guest Lecture for the course Principles of Operations
Management (BPF1343) on 11 May 2026 at WDKU-K-01.
We were honoured to welcome Mr Hanif Hamdan, Production Manager at TT Electronics, who
shared his industry experience through an engaging session on “Operational Excellence in
Manufacturing: Managing and Improving Business Processes.”
Students gained valuable exposure to real industry practices, operational strategies, and
continuous improvement approaches applied in today’s manufacturing environment. The
sharing session provided an excellent opportunity to bridge classroom learning with real-world
industrial experience.
A heartfelt thank you to Mr Hanif for the inspiring sharing session, and to all students for the
enthusiastic participation throughout the program. Special thanks as well to the course
coordinator, Dr Kamarulzaman Mahmad Khairai, for making this meaningful session possible.

The FinTech Tokenization Pioneer 2026 webinar was successfully held online on 8 May 2026, in collaboration with the Malaysian Youth FinTech Association (MyFinT) and Faculty of Industrial Management, Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA).

A special appreciation to Mr. Effendy Zulkifly, Industrial Advisory Panel for the UMPSA Bachelor of FinTech programme, for his insightful session on “Career Opportunities in the Malaysian Market through FinTech Programmes.” The discussion brought participants closer to the realities of today’s industry covering key areas such as asset tokenization, digital assets, AI, blockchain, regulatory compliance, and most importantly, how graduates can strategically position themselves to stay relevant in this rapidly evolving landscape.

We also extend our sincere thanks to Professor Dr. Irene Wei Kiong Ting from the Faculty of Industrial Management for her valuable sharing on ESG in the modern economy, highlighting the growing importance of sustainability within financial ecosystems.

What made this session even more impactful was the diverse participation not only from UMPSA, but also students, researchers, and academic representatives from various public and private universities connected through the MyFinT ecosystem. The discussions were truly engaging, insightful, and forward-looking.

This marks an important signal. Malaysia’s FinTech ecosystem is clearly moving into a more mature phase. It can no longer operate in silos. Universities, industry players, regulators, and future talents must speak the same language if we are serious about building a competitive digital nation. The future of FinTech is not just about technology. It is about collaboration, readiness, and shared vision.

Jom dengarkan perkongsian daripada pelajar, Kamalysa Sofyya Ramle mengenai projek inovasinya, FloodSense: Data-Driven Flood Management Dashboard for Decision Support.

Projek ini berjaya meraih 🥇 GOLD dalam CITREX 2026 bagi kategori Undergraduate Student.

FloodSense dibangunkan sebagai dashboard berasaskan data untuk membantu proses pemantauan dan membuat keputusan berkaitan pengurusan banjir dengan lebih efisien dan sistematik.

Di FIM UMPSA, pelajar bukan sahaja belajar di dalam kelas, malah turut diberi peluang terlibat dalam aktiviti penyelidikan, inovasi dan pertandingan seperti CITREX bagi meningkatkan kemahiran komunikasi, penyelesaian masalah, pemikiran kritikal dan keyakinan diri.

Lawatan Industri ke Ingress AOI Technologies Sdn. Bhd. (IATSB), Serendah, Selangor telah berlangsung dengan jayanya pada 5 Mei 2026 melibatkan seramai 30 orang pelajar daripada Program Sarjana Muda Pengurusan Teknologi Industri dengan Kepujian (ITM) dan Program Sarjana Muda Kejuruteraan Perniagaan dengan Kepujian (BE), bersama 4 orang pensyarah pengiring daripada Fakulti Pengurusan Industri, Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah.

Lawatan ini bertujuan memberi pendedahan kepada para pelajar berkaitan penggunaan teknologi Computer Aided Design (CAD), proses reka bentuk teknikal, pembangunan produk serta teknologi automasi yang diaplikasikan dalam industri pembuatan sebenar. Para pelajar turut berpeluang melihat sendiri operasi production line serta proses kerja industri secara langsung di IATSB.

Pihak fakulti merakamkan setinggi-tinggi penghargaan dan terima kasih kepada pihak Ingress AOI Technologies Sdn. Bhd. khususnya En. Zulkifly bin Muhamed Nasir (Deputy CEO), En. Hatta (General Manager), En. Bokhari (Deputy General Manager), Pn. Nurul Fatin (Head of Engineering), En. Irwan (Head of Production), dan En. Anas (Head of Engineering) atas kesudian menerima kunjungan serta perkongsian ilmu yang amat bermanfaat kepada para pelajar.

Sesi perkongsian telah berlangsung pada 7 dan 8 Mei 2026 bagi subjek Service Marketing dan Service Management yang dikendalikan oleh Dr. Nur Sofia Nabila Alimin. Perkongsian ini adalah jemputan khas daripada agensi Lembaga Pemasaran Pertanian Persekutuan (FAMA), iaitu Dr. Shahir Bin Omar, Penolong Pengarah Kanan.

Perkongsian ini memberi pendedahan kepada pelajar berkaitan kepentingan service pricing dalam menentukan nilai sesuatu perkhidmatan serta bagaimana strategi penetapan harga yang tepat mampu mempengaruhi kepuasan dan persepsi pelanggan. Selain itu, pelajar turut didedahkan dengan elemen service quality seperti kecekapan perkhidmatan, pengalaman pelanggan dan kepentingan mengekalkan standard kualiti dalam organisasi.

Sesi berlangsung secara interaktif dengan penglibatan aktif daripada para pelajar melalui soal jawab dan perbincangan berkaitan situasi sebenar dalam industri.
