From building a strong foundation at Sunway College Johor Bahru to developing an award-winning cybersecurity solution, our Diploma in Information Technology (DIT) alumni Hor Jia Jie continues to make us proud!โ
Currently in his final semester of the BSc (Hons) Information Technology (Computer Networking and Security) at Sunway University, Jia Jie recently received both the Gold Award and the InnovateX Special Award at the 2nd IGIIdeation 2026 for his project, AegisCode: AI-Enhanced Static Code Analyzer for Secure Coding Support (IGI041)โ
Developed independently while balancing his final-year studies, AegiSCode is an AI-powered tool that helps developers identify security vulnerabilities in source code and build more secure software.โ
Looking back, Jia Jie credits his time at Sunway College Johor Bahru for providing him a strong foundation in programming, networking and problem-solving, preparing him well for his degree.โ
His advice to aspiring future IT students is simple: "Build something real as early as you can. Don't wait until you feel fully ready." He believes that learning through hands-on experience, including making mistakes, is one of the best ways to grow.โ
