Celebrating Maulidur Rasul | 25 August 2026 | 12 Rabiulawal 1448H

Maulidur Rasul refers to the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW). It falls on 12 Rabiulawal, the third month in the Islamic calendar. Centuries ago, Muslim communities began setting aside this special day to remember the life, character and guidance of the Prophet. Today, Malaysia celebrates it as a national public holiday to reflect on his noble character and honor his lasting legacy.

Prophet Muhammad (SAW) taught: "The best among you are those who have the best manners and character." A simple smile, kind words and helping others are acts of worship.

Salam Maulidur Rasul.

When we first initiated this project, our intention was to create a lifelong keepsake for UMPSA postgraduates. We wanted to provide a tangible reminder of the dedicated years spent pursuing postgraduate, capturing the full image of the postgraduate experience. This jacket serves as a meaningful memento that graduates can proudly display and share with future generations.

We believe there is no better way to honor that significant journey than with a custom piece beautifully stitched with Postgraduate Association UMPSA.

We sincerely thank everyone who supported this project from the very beginning and we hope that you wear this official Postgraduate Association 2025/2026 UMPSA jacket with pride.

P/S: Don't forget to tag us in your photos when you wear them!

Happy Father's Day! | 21 June 2026

Navigating life’s ups and downs is a whole lot better with the best support system in the world. Happy Father's Day to the one who has always been there to help navigate the way. Sometimes that is a birth father; sometimes it is a stepfather rewriting a story, a mother carrying a double weight or a mentor holding open a door. The title belongs to anyone who looks at a child’s journey and says, 'You will not walk this alone.'

Salam Maal Hijrah & Awal Muharram | 17 June 2026 | 1 Muharram 1448H

Maal Hijrah (also known as Awal Muharram) marks the beginning of the Islamic New Year, from 1447H to 1448H. It is a commemoration of a important turning point in Islamic history. The word Hijrah means 'migration.' In 622 CE, facing severe persecution and injustice in Makkah, Prophet Muhammad SAW and his followers made the historic journey to the city of Yathrib (later renamed Madinah, meaning 'The City'). This migration was a strategic move to build a community that opt for peace, unity and justice.

Maal Hijrah serves as an annual reminder for the Islamic community that growth often requires leaving behind comfort zones to renew, set and migrate away from negative habits toward a better self.

For postgraduates, this hits close to home. Starting a Master's or PhD requires stepping out of comfort zones. When data fails, journal papers face rejection, or methodologies must change, the spirit of Hijrah reminds us that detour and perseverance are part of the path to success.
