ONLINE DATABASE TRAINING : EBSCOhost – SERIES III

Knowledge Management Centre (KMC) would like to invite Postgraduate and Undergraduate Students, Academicians and Researchers to participate in online database training programme, jointly organised by KMC and EBSCOhost Publishing. The training session is limited for 30 participants only. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis due to limited seating.

The training is scheduled as follow:

Time :10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Date :18th October 2012, Thursday
Venue :Workstation Room 1, Knowledge Management Centre, Level 10, Block B3, UNITAR International University

TRAINING OVERVIEW

EBSCO Publishing in collaboration with Knowledge Management Centre (KMC) will organise a training session, which determine to help improve your knowledge and ability to extract the most relevant information from our comprehensive offerings. This training session is designed for post graduate and undergraduate students, academicians and researchers who currently conducting a research activity and interested in exploring online resources effectively.

OBJECTIVES

- To increase his or her knowledge and understanding of the online database functions.
- To learn basic knowledge on Expert searching/ Advanced Searching.
- To empower users to use EBSCOhost effectively.
Programme
- All training session will have theoretical and practical content offered by speaker with a high level of expertise in the field of information searching skills and knowledge of the digital or online resources.

TRAINING FORMAT

- Lectures (Lecture handouts will be provided with no fee)
- Discussions
- Exercises

***Participants will receive Certificates of Attendance upon successfully completing the session.

Invitation to participate in cultural programs for international students 2012

Please be informed that the Division of Student Affairs, the Department of Higher Education in collaboration with Sunway University will organize the International Student Cultural Sanggar 2012 as follows:

Date: 1 to 4 November 2012
Time: 8:30 am - 10:00 pm
Venue: Kampung Sg. Sireh, Kuala Selangor, Selangor

The program is organized to provide the opportunity for students to learn the culture and livelihoods of rural communities. Students will also have the opportunity to communicate with the participants from other countries as well as local residents.

The program also aims to create opportunities for students to interact, communicate and work in groups, regardless of cultural background, ideology and their country. In addition, this program is to produce a first-class human capital with confidence, creativity, appreciation of art and culture in line with the Ministry of Higher Education to produce holistic graduates with positive values.

OCTOBER 2012 SEMESTER PRE-REGISTRATION FOR MASTER PROGRAMME

We are pleased to inform that OCTOBER 2012 Semester Pre-Registration for Master programme will commence as follow:

§ Start : 04.00 p.m., Monday,03rd September 2012

§ End : 11.59 p.m., Friday, 07th September 2012

Pre-Registration is COMPULSORY for all students continuing their studies in the coming OCTOBER 2012 Semester.

Failure to do so, a penalty of RM100.00 PER COURSE will be imposed to student.

Pre-Registration is conducted on line and students will be prompted on the steps to take upon login into PGS. Please adhere to the instruction given.
