Traditionally, these systems come with a hefty price tag, making them inaccessible for many colleges, resulting in shared systems among students. Our solution? A cost-effective CIM system designed to democratize access to this vital training.

This innovative project utilizes an S7-1200 PLC as the main controller, complemented by two Arduinos serving as remote terminal units. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Instead of an industrial robotic arm, we engineered a 6-degree-of-freedom (DOF) robotic arm using six RC servo motors. A smart camera sensor discerns between good and defective products, ensuring quality control.

Like any CIM setup, the system logs production and testing data into an HMI, providing valuable insights for students. ๐Ÿ“Š This approach not only slashes costs but also enhances accessibility and learning opportunities for multiple colleges.

This machine comprises three stations: feeding, shrinking, and storing, each designed to optimize the packaging process. ๐Ÿ“ฆ At the feeding station, a pneumatic cylinder seamlessly pulls the plate to the sealing process, ensuring efficiency and precision.

In the sealing process, another pneumatic cylinder presses and pulls the sealer cutter through the shrink film, creating a secure and hygienic seal. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ The conveyor at the second station facilitates the movement of the paper plate through the oven, ensuring uniform heat shrinkage of the wrapping film.

At the final station, the paper plate transitions to the storing station via the conveyor, completing the packaging process seamlessly. ๐Ÿš€

Introducing the 'Semi-Automated Filling & Sealing Machine', a marvel of engineering innovation. ๐Ÿ’ก

This machine is designed to streamline the filling and sealing process for beverages in cups. ๐Ÿฅค At the first station, cups are automatically dispensed onto the conveyor belt, ready for filling. The conveyor then transports the cup to the second station, where it's precisely filled with 380ml of liquid, with a tolerance of 30ml.

Once filled, the cup moves to the relocating station, where it's picked up and placed into the sealing machine using a sophisticated pick and place mechanism. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ While the sealing process requires manual initiation by pressing the sealing button, the machine ensures a seamless transition.
