How to get a book crit from a global ad agency like Dentsu?
Here's how: get your ideas ready, whip up guts enough to jump off the cliff, and have zero fear of criticism.

On 16 April, 12 APU Advertising students made that brave move and survived.

Obviously, the field trip also included a brief intro to the agency's credentials and culture, on top of a walk through the workspace. But the book crit was the real highlight - one that has certainly triggered some good level of adrenaline releases.

Hopefully they went in a fluffle of rabbits but came out a pride of roaring lions and lionesses (no pun intended if you know what I mean 🤭).

And of course, we can't thank Dentsu Malaysia and Brendan Low enough for making this happen. The precious time spared, the warm hospitality and the generous knowledge shared are truly appreciated!

Field trip day! Our APU Media Arts & Design students explored the iconic Bangunan Sultan Abdul Samad, an architectural treasure built in 1897 with its signature Moorish‑influenced arches, copper domes, and towering clock structure.
Standing opposite Dataran Merdeka, this landmark has witnessed Malaysia’s most historic moments — including the raising of the Malayan flag during the 1957 independence declaration.
A great day of learning, observing, and capturing the beauty of one of KL’s most photographed heritage sites!
