IMPORTANT NOTICE
Esteemed Colleagues, We thank you all for you dedications and commitment towards our upcoming rally and Protest Action across our Campuses and in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
In respect to that, we wish to inform you that the Forum will be writing a formal notification letter to be submitted to the Students' Affairs Divisions of all respective universities, notifying them of our planned two-day warning rally on campuses. A formal signal will also be communicated to all Students' Union Governments (SUGs) and Students' Representative Councils (SRCs).
In view of the above, all Beneficiaries are hereby directed as follows:

1. Mobilization: Every institution should immediately commence mobilization of all Federal Scholarship Beneficiaries. Other concerned students may also join in solidarity.

2. Creation of Institutional WhatsApp Groups: Each institution is required to create a dedicated WhatsApp group for FSB Beneficiaries of that school. If such a group already exists, kindly maintain it.
Upon creation, please notify us and forward the group invite link to enable other beneficiaries from your institution to join.

3. Contact of SUG Presidents: Beneficiaries should obtain the active phone number of their institution's SUG President and forward it to us via WhatsApp on 09124083073 (WhatsApp Only), along with your institutional group link.

4. Submission of Letters: The National Secretariat will draft the formal notification letters which will be handed over to institutional representatives for onward submission to their respective school managements.
Please note that all letters must be delivered not later than Monday, 28th September, 2027.
Don't forget to follow our social media handles on X and Facebook.

NOTICE OF PROTEST ACTION

Dear Compatriots of the Press,

You will recall that in recent times, the Concerned National Scholarship Award Beneficiaries, under the banner of the Nigeria Federal Scholarship Beneficiaries Forum, have been engaging the press very frequently. The obvious reason has been to draw the attention of the Federal Government, under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and members of the general public to the declining fortunes, complete rot and total negligence of the Federal Scholarship Scheme and its implications for the nation's desire for transformative and lasting development.

Apart from engagement with the press, we have, on several occasions, reached out to the Federal Ministry of Education and the Department of Scholarship Awards to demand and plead for the release of the 2024, 2025 and now 2026 backlogs. Unfortunately, nothing tangible came out of all these pleas. What is clear for now is that the Federal Government has a strong habit of paying little or no attention to the education sector and the welfare of students in general.

At the Administrative Board meeting held at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University on the 25th of September, 2026, the Forum decried the neglect of the Scholarship Scheme and the Government's consistent refusal to heed the students' pleas and demands.

Accordingly, the Forum has given the Federal Government of Nigeria an ultimatum of seven days within which to pay all outstanding funds and implement the announced increment to all. If, at the end of the seven-day ultimatum, the Federal Government fails to address these issues, the Forum will have no option but to, first, embark on a two-day warning rally on our campuses, carrying placards, and thereafter, a total and comprehensive protest in the Federal Capital Territory.

Fellow Compatriots, it is over two years now since we brought these issues to the media and the public domain. It means, therefore, that these issues are not new to the general public.

For the benefit of the doubt, our demands include the following:

1. Immediate payment of all outstanding National Scholarship Award funds from 2022 to 2026 to all verified and eligible beneficiaries.

2. Immediate implementation of the ₦450,000 increment for National Award beneficiaries, as announced by the Federal Government.

Great Compatriots, we are confident that the Federal Government has the capacity to fix and standardize the Scholarship Scheme, as well as pay all backlogs once and for all.

We are finally calling on all well-meaning Nigerian politicians, citizens, religious and traditional rulers, parents, lecturers, and all other stakeholders in the education sector to press the Nigerian Government to turn its attention to the beneficiaries of the Federal Scholarship and the education sector in general. The time to do that is right now. There is this common logic that a pilot who hears an alarm and fails to act
timeously endangers the lives of all on board.

NANS; PRESIDENT TINUBU'S ADMINISTRATION IS YET TO PAY THE MAJORITY

Our attention has been drawn to a Facebook reply by the President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Comrade Akinteye Babtee Babatunde, in which he claimed that all Federal Government scholarship beneficiaries have been paid except those experiencing issues with their bank accounts.

We find this claim very disappointing and misleading, particularly coming from someone who is expected to stand firmly with students and amplify their grievances. Such a statement gives the impression that the scholarship payment crisis has been resolved when, in reality, a majority are still waiting for their funds.

For the sake of setting the record straight, payments to some 2024 National Scholarship Award beneficiaries commenced on 15 September 2026 between 5:15pm to around 7:00pm. However, this was not payment to all 2024 awardees. A significant number of 2024 beneficiaries are still waiting.

At around 05:15 to around 6:400pm of 16th September 2026 , payments continued, reaching a very negligible number of beneficiaries from the older outstanding categories. Again, this was nowhere near a comprehensive settlement of the outstanding payments, and therefore nothing to write home about.

Based on the verifiable facts we have and the payment confirmations we have received from beneficiaries across the country, more than 70% of the affected beneficiaries remain unpaid. Therefore, telling students that everyone has been paid except those experiencing account-related issues creates a misleading impression that the matter has been resolved, when clearly it has not.

We therefore call on the NANS leadership to be more responsible with its statements and avoid making claims that may inadvertently shield the APC/Tinubu lead administration from legitimate scrutiny while thousands of beneficiaries are still waiting for their money.

We do not need anyone to tell us that our accounts have been credited when our accounts have not been credited. The beneficiaries know their own accounts, and they know whether or not they have received their scholarship payments.

We acknowledge and welcome the fact that payment has commenced. However, commencement of payment must not be confused with completion of payment. What we are demanding is the full payment of all legitimate and verified beneficiaries who are still owed.

Finally, we remain firm in our position that if our demands are not fully addressed by 30 September 2026, we will break our silence and intensify our legitimate efforts to demand accountability and the payment of all outstanding scholarship entitlements
