Rt.Hon.Abdulkarim Lawan, speaker of Borno State House of Assembly And His Deputy Rt.Hon.Engr. Abdullahi Musa Askira, principal officers and other honourable members received Prof. Isa Hussaini Marte, Chief of Staff of Borno State on visit to the state assembly.

In his welcome address, the speaker described the visit as first of it's kind in the history of the assembly and said the appointment of Prof. Marte did not come as surprise considering his track records and pedigree.

Also speaking.Hon.Ajikolo Khadi, chairman house committee on Governors office thanked the chief of staff for the visit which he described as worthwhile and highly commendable.

Prof.Hussaini Isa Marte expressed appreciation and promised to put in his best to the overall growth and development of the state.

High point of the visit was the presentation of gift by the speaker to the the chief of staff.

The Deputy Speaker Rt, Hon. Engr. Abdullahi Musa Askira MNSE,FNIEEE (Garkuwan Askira) Proceed to Uba Town After Observing the Eid Eid-elkabir prayers In Askira.

The deputy Speaker who is billed for official engagement decided to celebrate this year edle kabir in Askira and he later in the afternoon proceeded to Uba where he also performed jummaat prayer together with the emir of uba and his entourage.

In both Askira and Uba towns both the emirs have expressed their profound appreciation to the deputy Deputy Speaker for chosen to come and celebrate the Sallah with them stating that this is the 2'nd time deputy Speaker is leaving the state capital and his family for celebrating sallah with them and promised to continues loyalty and support to the present administration.

Other indigenes who spoke commended the deputy speaker for his leadership style to leave his family purposely to celebrate sallah with them they added that this is the 2'nd time in history.

Alongside Deputy Governor of Borno State Alhaji Umar Usman Kadafur, Emir Of Askira, Hon Commissioner of Health Dr. Salihu Kwaya Bura, Members of Borno State House of Assembly, Members of Askira Emirates Council and other prominent traditional rulers.

The Eid held at low-cost primary school Askira Where Thousands of people's from different communities observed.

The Deputy Speaker Borno State House of Assembly, Hon.Members Borno State House of Assembly attends the Housing Gov.Zulum Lays Foundation of Constructing 500 Housing Unit

The Deputy speaker of Borno State House of assembly Rt. Hon Engr Abdullahi Musa Askira, has today Wednesday attended the Housing of Constructing 500 Housing unit in Borno at Kano Road area by the Recalled that, His Excellency the Executive Governor of Borno State had on 20th December inaugurated the committee on the construction of 500 Housing unit with His Excellency Deputy Governor as Chairman of the committee.

On Wednesday morning, Governor Zulum officially laid the foundation of 300 housing unit in a ceremony at the proposed site along Damaturu road which is very close to the Borno State University.

Two locations were chosen (Maiduguri-Kano road and Maiduguri-Gubio Road) the first site will house 300 housing which is comprising of 200, 2-bedroom flats and 50, 1-bedroom flats while the other site will house 150, 2-bedroom flats and 50, 1-bedroom flats respectively.

Zulum added, Government will provide all the necessary facilities in the two estates. Schools, mosque, clinics, police outposts and fire service will be build in both the two sites.

Construction of the houses will no doubt create jobs to the teeming youths in Borno state in addition of enhancing economy of the state.

Governor Zulum also said that, under his leadership, the Government of Borno State will build additional 10,000 housing unit in both rural and urban areas of the state.

Zulum acknowledged the support of the Federal government agencies namely, Northeast Development Commission, ministry of Humanitarian Affairs among others.

Earlier on, the Deputy Governor of Borno State, His Excellency Hon. Umar Usman Kadafur thanked the Governor for finding them worthy and reassured him to abide by the guidelines and timely completion of the two sites.

The Deputy Speaker, Rt Hon Engr Abdullahi Musa Askira MNSE,FNIEEE has sympathize with the people of Ngulde community over yesterday attack on the town by Boko Haram where district head House,
blocks of all classroom, old dispensary were burnt down and destroyed the doors, glasses of new Comprehensive Health Centre by the insurgents in the town, while essential commodities and food items were also burnt and carted away by the insurgents.

The Deputy Speaker prayed to Allah to avert Feature occurrence and urged the people to take the indecent as an act of God.
