Important fact about Corpers and election

1. Corpers don't vote during the service year
2. You don't need to have voters card to join INEC ad-hoc
3. NIN is a good and valid ID card to present during your registration for adhoc recruitment application
4. Corpers serve as polling officers, assistant polling officers and RATECHS.
5. The responsibility include to organize voters, organize voting materials, conduct voting in the polling unit they are assigned to.
6. You are to participate as ad-hoc in your state of service and not your state of origin.
7. INEC has increased the number of corpers to be deployed with extra 250,000 corpers so there can be enough workforce in every poliing unit.
8. Training of ad-hoc will be conducted after registration closes. They will be trained on how to conduct unbiased voting process, how to collate the votes after voting is done, how to enter the votes into the INEC system, how to avoid siding any political party, how to resolve crisis and how to exit the premises incase of mishap.
9. It is optional to opt for ad-hoc, it is not mandatory on any corper.
10. Renumeration are paid after the completion of the voting process.

Note: as a corper, you are to desist from any political involvement publicly. You are to be politically neutral in all your dealings.

*NYSC UPDATES AS AT MONDAY, 12TH OCTOBER 2026*

Good morning and welcome to another edition of NYSC Recap with Teacher-Jerry. Here are the major highlights from activities in the NYSC space over the past week.

_*Disclaimer:* This is based on personal research and analysis. Treat it as you will._

👉 The Batch C Stream 1 orientation course is now in its final week as corps members are expected to leave camp on 20th October. The outcome of relocation applications will also be known on the same day.

👉 The final mobilization for the year will begin shortly after, with Batch C Stream 2 scheduled to go to camp on November 4. Based on past practices, call-up numbers are expected to be released for registered PCMs before Stream 1 leaves camp.

👉 For those interested in direct posting, slot booking is currently ongoing while we wait the release of call up number

👉 As you prepare for orientation camp, don’t forget to get your documents ready a the items you’ll need for your convenience.

👉 The Nigerian Police has announced the release of the 20 PCMs who were abducted in Imo State while travelling to the orientation camp. Although this has not been officially confirmed, reports indicate that they were offered the option to serve in any South-West state following their ordeal.

👉 During his visit to Anambra camp yesterday, the NYSC DG said the Scheme is collaborating with security agencies to prevent a recurrence of the recent kidnappings of PCMs. He also advised corps members against night travel and urged them to remain vigilant.

👉 In a sad development, a corps member, Etimbuk Daniel, has died at the Enugu orientation camp due to health reasons. NANS announced his death on Sunday, although NYSC is yet to release an official statement on the incident.

*NOTIFICATION OF PHYSICAL VERIFICATION OF CREDENTIALS AND TRAVEL DOCUMENTS OF FOREIGN-TRAINED GRADUATES FOR THE 2026 BATCH ‘C’ STREAM I SERVICE YEAR.*

This is to inform all Foreign Trained Nigerian Graduates whose credentials and travel documents are yet to be physically verified, should make themselves available for physical verification exercise scheduled to hold from Tuesday, 13th to Thursday, 15th October, 2026 at the following chosen centers:
1. ENUGU: NYSC Secretariat, 2 Abakaliki Road, GRA, Enugu, Enugu State.
2. BAUCHI: Shadawanka Military Barracks, Bauchi, Bauchi State.
3. FCT: NYSC FCT Secretariat, Plot 7, Flat 2, A Close, Asokoro, Abuja.

*2026 BATCH 'C' STREAM II ORIENTATION COMMENCES NOVEMBER 4*

The Management of National Youth Service Corps has approved Wednesday, 4th November, 2026 as the commencement date for the 2016 Batch 'C' Stream II Orientation Course.

The Exercise will be conducted in all the 36 States and the FCT, Abuja.

Registration of Corps Members will hold between Wednesday 4th and midnight of Friday 6th November, while the Swearing-in Ceremony will take place on Friday 6th November, 2026.

Consequently, the Closing Ceremony is scheduled to take place on Tuesday 24th November, 2026.
