The first edition of this pageant took place in 2013, and it was called Egbe-Idimu-Ikotun Beauty with Brains Pageant 2013. This event is an initiative that was developed to promote education, and to seek universal advancement of women in our society. The aim of Beauty with Brains Pageant is to reach out to young women, and to provide a positive platform that would bring forth the best of the young

About The Queen, Beauty with Brains Pageant 2013/2014
After about four rigorous weeks of mental, physical, and intellectual screening of contestants for the 2013 edition of the pageant, Miss Uthman Olabisi Shakira emerged the Beauty Queen of the Egbe Idimu Ikotun Beauty Pageant 2013/2014. Olabisi is a 22-year old graduate of History and International Studies from the prestigious Lagos State University (LASU). She is from a Muslim background - she says Islam is so dear to her because, it is a religion of peace. As a graduate of History and International Studies, she aspires to study further by taking more professional, and language courses to boost her educational status. As the reigning queen of EII 2013/2014, she uses her office to impact on the needy and less privileged by visiting orphanages in her locality. She also, along with some professionals, organizes vocational training workshops to help develop talent and skills. Her advocacy campaign on Child Labour has reached out to traders in Ikotun Ifelodun Market - Ikotun. She thinks the government should work more with the existing vocational centres which would help youth stay more focused and keep them away from the streets.
