ASCETA JOINS AROCHUKWU KINGDOM TO CELEBRATE IRI JI-IKEJI 2026

The management of Abia State College of Education, led by the Provost, Prof. Idowu Eluwa, joined the people of Arochukwu Kingdom in celebrating the 2026 Iri Ji-Ikeji Festival.

The celebration featured the commissioning of the Mary Slessor Library and the groundbreaking of the Arochukwu Digital Hub Centre, aimed at equipping the community with 21st-century digital skills.

ASCETA also presented red oil from its Palm Oil Mill to His Eminence Eberechukwu Oji, the King of Arochukwu, in celebration of the traditional New Yam Festival.

ASCETA remains committed to meaningful community engagement, partnership, and development.

A HEARTFELT THANK YOU TO OUR ADMISSION UNIT & ADMISSION DRIVE TEAM

Dear ASCETA Admission Unit and Admission Drive Team,

I want to sincerely appreciate every one of you for your commitment, creativity and sense of responsibility in taking the ASCETA brand beyond the walls of the College.

Seeing our ASCETA Admission Banner proudly displayed yesterday at the Labour Party event was truly commendable. It was more than just a banner; it was a bold statement that ASCETA is present, visible, accessible and ready for the next generation of students.

Thank you for understanding that admission drive is not just about numbers; it is about creating awareness, connecting with communities, showcasing our programmes and giving people the opportunity to discover what ASCETA has to offer.

I am particularly encouraged by your initiative and willingness to seize every opportunity to promote the College. These are the little but significant actions that collectively build a stronger ASCETA.

The goal was never to simply train students. It was to prepare them for responsibility.

As the dust settles from our just-concluded 2-Day Entrepreneurship & Career Development Training/Workshop, one thing remains clear: education must produce more than certificates.

It must produce people who can create value, solve problems, earn with dignity, and contribute meaningfully to society.

This is why we are intentional about building the Dual Mandate:

EMPLOYABILITY + ENTREPRENEURSHIP.

We want students who can confidently pursue opportunities in the job market and students who can create opportunities when the jobs are not there.

But beyond getting jobs or starting businesses, we are raising a generation with skills, character, competence and a sense of responsibility.

Because an unemployed graduate without direction can become frustrated.
A skilled graduate without values can become dangerous.
But a skilled, employable, entrepreneurial and responsible graduate becomes an asset to society.

Our vision is simple:

Prepare students who won’t become a nuisance to society, but contributors to it.

Students who don’t just ask, “What can Nigeria give me?” but also ask:

“What can I build?”
“What problem can I solve?”
“Who can I help?”
“What value can I create?”

We just concluded an intensive 2-Day Entrepreneurship & Career Development Training/Workshop, and honestly… this was more than a training.

It was two days of turning potential into preparation and preparation into possibility.

From Video Production, Cinematography & Documentaries, Video Editing, Photography, News Reporting and Live Streaming to Job Search Strategies, CV & Cover Letter Writing, Career Positioning, and hands-on media production, participants didn’t just listen — they learned, practiced, and created.

Day One took us behind the scenes of media and storytelling.

Day Two took us into the realities of the workplace - how to find opportunities, position yourself for them, communicate your value, and actually get ready for the world of work.

And the best part?

We didn’t just teach skills. We built confidence.

Because talent without preparation can remain hidden.

But when skill meets strategy, confidence, and opportunity… something powerful happens.

A huge thank you to every trainer, facilitator, participant, and everyone who made these two days possible and most importantly TETFund

Good afternoon, GREAT ASCETA EXTRA TEAM!

Please carefully ponder on the topic “Build to Last,” drawn from the story of the Tower of Babel in Genesis 11:1–9, especially Genesis 11:6. From these verses, Pastor Jerry Eze emphasized that great achievements are possible when people are united, intentional, skilled and committed to a common purpose.

For the ASCETA EXTRA TEAM, our assignment is not merely to conduct a successful teachers’ training programme, but to build capacity that will last beyond the training days.

Every module, presentation, demonstration and interaction must equip teachers with practical knowledge and skills that they can continuously apply in their classrooms going forward.

We must therefore build with excellence, teamwork, innovation, discipline and sustainability. Our unity must be driven by a clear and noble vision: transforming teaching and learning in Abia State.

Let us go the extra mile, because there are no traffic jams along the extra mile!

We are not building for applause; we are building competent teachers, stronger schools and a lasting educational transformation.

Importantly, ASCETA is deliberately putting together a Teacher Training Team that will outlive the tenure of the current Provost- a sustainable team that will continue to deliver excellence and make a lasting impact on education in Abia State and beyond.

Good morning, GREAT ASCETA EXTRA TEAM!

I encourage every member of this team to carefully read Genesis 1:25–30 and study the explanations shared above. Let the message sink deeply into your spirit: we were created with purpose, blessed for fruitfulness, mandated to multiply, and empowered to exercise dominion!

This is not the time to think small, become discouraged, or be intimidated by challenges. We have a divine mandate and an institutional responsibility to make a difference.

ASCETA EXTRA TEAM, BE FIRED UP!

Begin to ROAR LIKE THE LION 🦁- with courage, confidence, authority, and determination.

Begin to SOAR LIKE THE EAGLE 🦅- rise above limitations, think beyond the ordinary, embrace innovation, and reach heights that others may consider impossible.

In Teacher Education and beyond, we must be fruitful. We must multiply our impact. We must take our rightful place and demonstrate excellence.

Let us refuse mediocrity. Let us refuse fear. Let us refuse limitations.
