First in history
During the Town Hall meeting , the president of the Gombe State Students' Association, ATBU Chapter suggested that.
• 50% of the budget should move to Students welfare and projects; boreholes, health outreach, tutorials etc
•30% should move to programs and events
• 20% should move to Administration and emergency
And he made emphasis on low cost high impact projects
2 to 3 visible lasting projects than 10 invisible ones.
He also talked about the Academic line saying that one of the worst thing an administration would do is tutorials but is a major priority to focus on because they haven't been enough tutorials for students last season.
And lastly the SUG president gave an outstanding comment to the GOSSA president

The president is dedicated to promoting academics excellence and strengthen unity amongs students. Where by improving inter relations within students and the student union government (SUG)

🚨GOSSA Advises Students on 2026 Scholarship Applications

The GOSSA National President has announced that the 2026 Gombe State Scholarship enrolment is ongoing. Students are advised to follow the official guidelines and provide accurate information. Those who applied last year and whose academic status remains unchanged should not submit another application, as duplicate applications may result in disqualification. Students whose academic programme has changed and who are newly eligible may apply, subject to the scholarship requirements. https://gombestatescholarship.com/applicant/register
All students are encouraged to verify their eligibility before submitting an application.

The executive council of the gombe state student association (GOSSA) under the leadership of my able president,
Comrd UMAR IBRAHIM UMAR have successfully carried out and COMPLETED a project on the renovation of the GOSSA sign board
located near the Fcmb bank in yelwa campus.
This is a great achievement toward strengthening unity and oneness in our able association .
This achievement marks the selfless effort and dedication put into work by the president so as to keep GOSSA recognised by the school management and members as well,

GOSSA ATBU CHAPTER | INTERACTIVE SESSION

The President of the Gombe State Students’ Association (GOSSA), ATBU Chapter, Comr. Umar Ibrahim Umar, recently had an engaging and insightful interactive session with his mentor and role model, QS. Kabiru Abdullahi, CEO/MD of The Orbit Prime Limited, at Custodian Hotel, Gombe. The interactive session was also attended by some members of the *GOSSA ATBU Chapter Executives.*

The session provided an opportunity for meaningful conversations, mentorship, and the exchange of valuable insights on leadership, personal development, career growth, and the responsibilities that come with serving others.

Such engagements reflect the importance of mentorship in shaping purposeful leadership and inspiring young people to pursue excellence while remaining committed to making a positive impact in their communities.

🏆 RECOGNITION OF EXCELLENCE | 43RD BALEWITES FINAL YEAR DINNER & AWARD NIGHT🎉

The GOSSA President, Comr. Umar Ibrahim Umar was honoured at the 43rd Balewites Final Year Dinner & Award Night, receiving the Best GOSSA President Award presented by the Final Year Central Working Committee.

Beyond the award, the evening was marked by meaningful engagements with distinguished personalities, including the President’s mentor In the person Of Anas Adam Umar( Lucas ) and one of the highly respected former SUG Presidents of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Comr. Muhammad Nazeer Ahmadu (Seeker) an individual whose leadership and legacy remain a source of inspiration to many.

Moments like these remind us that leadership is not only about holding office, but about service, relationships, mentorship and leaving a positive impact.
