The First CBN Governor (Indigenous) of Nigeria.

AlhajiAliyu Mai Bornu

Mallam Aliyu Mai-Bornu (1919-1970) was a Kanuri born in Yola, present day, Adamawa State. His father was from Borno state.

After his secondary education, he earned a government scholarship to travel abroad. He studied Economics at Bristol University in the United Kingdom graduating in 1957.

On July 25, 1963, Mai-Bornu was appointed the first indigenous Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (1963–1967) succeeding Josh Jomesky. His portrait adorns the 1000 naira note.

Candidates are advised to complete their screening as soon as possible and rely only on verified information from official sources.

🚨 IMPORTANT CLARIFICATION FOR ALL F*K 2026/2027 ADMISSION APPLICANTS

Following numerous enquiries from prospective students, the Federal University of Kashere wishes to clarify the categories of applicants required to participate in the Post-UTME Test.

✅ Only applicants who applied for:
• MBBS (Medicine & Surgery)
• BDS (Dental Surgery)
• B.N.Sc. Nursing Science

are required to sit for the Post-UTME Computer-Based Test (CBT).

❌ Applicants for:
• B.Sc. Pharmacology
• B.Sc. Anatomy
• B.Sc. Physiology
• B.Sc. Occupational Therapy

are NOT required to participate in the Post-UTME CBT.

📌 Screening for all other applicants remains ONLINE ONLY through the University's screening portal.

🗓️ Post-UTME CBT Date: Monday, 27th July 2026.

9AM at ICT Center Federal University of Kashere, Gombe State

SRC F*K Holds Official Handing-Over Ceremony for the 2026/2027 Executive Council

The Students’ Representative Council (SRC), Federal University Kashere (F*K), under the leadership of the outgoing President, Comrade Kabir Faizu Danyaya, successfully organized its official Handing-Over Ceremony at the Entrepreneurship Centre, Federal University Kashere.

The event featured farewell speeches by the outgoing executives, an award presentation in recognition of outstanding service, the official swearing-in of the newly elected SRC executives, and the formal transfer of leadership.

The Vice-Chancellor of Federal University Kashere, Prof. Muhammad Inuwa Ja’afaru, congratulated both the outgoing and incoming executives for their commitment to student leadership. He assured the newly inaugurated SRC leadership, led by Comrade Muhammad Naris Pela, of the university management’s maximum support and encouraged them to serve with dedication, integrity, and accountability.

Also speaking at the ceremony, the Staff Adviser to the SRC, Prof. Muhammad Umar, appreciated the Vice-Chancellor for his unwavering support for students and for approving the inauguration of the new SRC Executive Council.

The ceremony was attended by the Vice-Chancellor, the Registrar, Deans, lecturers, student leaders, family members, and other distinguished guests from within and outside the university community.

The event concluded with inspiring speeches from the outgoing SRC President, Comrade Kabir Faizu Danyaya, and the incoming SRC President, Comrade Muhammad Naris Pela, both of whom emphasized unity, continuity, and dedicated service to the students of Federal University Kashere. The ceremony also ended with a group photograph session involving the university management, SRC executives, invited guests, and attendees to commemorate the occasion.
