FCET EKIADOLOR STUDENT EMERGES 3RD IN COEASU SOUTH-SOUTH ZONAL COMPETITION...

Akpomeze Sarah Ujiroghene, an NCE II student of Early Childhood Care Education at the Federal College of Education (Technical), Ekiadolor, has emerged third position in the COEASU South-South Zonal Scholarship Competition.
Sarah, who recorded an impressive CGPA of 4.90, was selected to represent the College after the results of the best NCE II students from various departments were reviewed. She subsequently participated in the zonal selection examination organised by the Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union (COEASU), where she distinguished herself by securing third position.
The achievement highlights the College’s commitment to academic excellence and recognition of outstanding student performance.

FCE (T) EKIADOLOR, STUDENTS’ WEEK 2026 CELEBRATES UNITY IN DIVERSITY

The Federal College of Education (Technical), Ekiadolor, Benin City, held its 2026 Students’ Week from September 7–11, 2026, under the theme “One Campus, Different Cultures and One Family.” Organised by the Students’ Union Government (SUG), the five-day celebration featured activities designed to promote unity, creativity, intellectual development, cultural diversity and sportsmanship.

Day One – The celebration commenced with a tour of Benin Metropolis, followed by a school drive and admission rally. Students distributed admission fliers and created awareness about the College and its academic programmes.

Day Two – Students participated in Gender Switch and Old School Day, showcasing creativity through different outfits and creating an atmosphere of fun, friendship and interaction.

Day Three – The day featured Quiz and Debate Competitions. Students demonstrated their knowledge and public-speaking skills, with the debate focusing on the motion: “Science and Technology Has Done More Harm Than Good in Our Society.”

Day Four – Cultural Day, one of the major highlights of the 2026 Students’ Week, celebrated the rich cultural heritage and diversity of the College community. The Bini, Urhobo, Esan, Yoruba and Igbo cultural groups thrilled guests with colourful traditional attire, music, dances and cultural displays. The event was attended by the Provost, Dr. Lawrence Osagiede, represented by the Dean of Students’ Affairs, Dr. Mrs. Margaret Osahon; the SUG Matron, Dr. Olive Bruce; COEASU Secretary General, Mr. Smith Akoko; members of the Alumni; and other invited guests. Hon. Charity Iguodala Aiguobarueghian, Member of the Edo State House of Assembly, also joined the Bini Cultural Group in celebrating the occasion.

In his opening remarks, the SUG President, Comr. Palmer Igho Evans, encouraged students to appreciate their cultural differences, respect one another and uphold the spirit of unity and togetherness. The event showcased the beauty of cultural diversity and strengthened the bond among students as one family.
Day Five – The celebration ended with a Football Fiesta and Students’ Get-Together. Team Chelsea defeated Team Manchester United 3–0, after which students gathered to socialise and celebrate the successful conclusion of the week.

The 2026 Students’ Week provided students with opportunities to learn, interact, showcase their talents and celebrate the cultural diversity of the College community.
The SUG appreciated the College Management, staff, students, invited guests and other stakeholders for their contributions to the success of the celebration.

FCE(T) EKIADOLOR HOLDS SECOND EDITION OF STUDENTS' PRODUCTS AND SERVICES EXHIBITION

Students of the Federal College of Education (Technical), Ekiadolor, Benin City, Edo State, showcased their entrepreneurial skills at the Second Edition of the Students' Products and Services Exhibition, held at the College Auditorium on Friday, 21st August 2026, at 11am.
The event, organised in partial fulfilment of course requirements for Entrepreneurship in Business Education II (BEE 320) and Introduction to Entrepreneurship Education (GSE 224), provided students with a practical platform to display, market and sell a wide range of products and services spanning food, clothing, electronics and other innovative items. The exhibition was coordinated by the course lecturer, Mr. Bisong Joshua.
The Registrar, Mrs. Ojapah Juliet, represented the College Provost, Dr. Lawrence Osagiede, at the event, which was attended by deans, directors, heads of departments, staff and students.
Declaring the exhibition open, Mrs. Ojapah, on behalf of the Provost, commended the students for their creativity and enterprise, describing the exhibition as a true reflection of the College's commitment to producing graduates who are not only academically sound but also self-reliant and equipped with practical, marketable skills.
By the close of the exhibition, participating students had sold out their products, in what organisers described as a remarkable demonstration of entrepreneurship in action.
Speaking on the significance of the exhibition, Mr. Bisong Joshua noted that it allowed students to move beyond the classroom and apply their creativity, innovation, marketing skills and business knowledge in practice, transforming ideas into products, products into sales, and sales into real entrepreneurial experience.
The exhibition reinforces the College's commitment to entrepreneurial and professional skills development as part of its academic programmes. Admission into the Federal College of Education (Technical), Ekiadolor, Benin City, is currently ongoing.
