I would like to respectfully bring to your attention a recent change observed on the NELFUND dashboard regarding the 2026/2027 academic session.

It was previously showing “Verified by Institution” for the upkeep allowance, but within the past few days, it has changed to “Pending” for many students.

At the moment, there is no clear information or update explaining this change, which is causing concern among students.

We humbly request that the school management kindly look into this matter and provide any available information or clarification as soon as possible.

We sincerely appreciate your continuous support and concern for students’ welfare.

New VC Unveils Five-Point Agenda for FUGA

‎The newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University Gashua (FUGA), Professor Yaqub Ahmed Geidam, has unveiled a comprehensive five-point agenda aimed at repositioning the institution for academic excellence, staff welfare, infrastructural development, and global competitiveness.

‎Speaking shortly after taking over the mantle of leadership, Professor Geidam outlined his administration’s priorities, anchored on Academic Excellence and Integrity, Staff Welfare, Student Development and Discipline, Strategic Planning and Resource Distribution, as well as Inclusion and Community Engagement.

‎It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Dr. Ramatu Tinja, Asdociate Professor and Acting Dean, Faculty of Education.
‎She passed away this evening in Kano.
‎
‎Ramatu Tinja was a dedicated academic, an inspiring leader, and a committed member of the University community. Her immense contributions to the growth and development of the Faculty of Education and the University at large will be fondly remembered.

‎May Almighty Allah forgive her shortcomings, grant her Aljannatul Firdaus, and give her family, colleagues, and the entire University community the strength to bear this irreparable loss.

NELFUND SCHOOL FEES DISBURSEMENT SUCCESS FOR 2024/2025 SESSION

Dear FUGA Students,
27 January, 2026

I am pleased to inform you that the SUG President-elect of the Federal University Gashua, Comrade Abdurrahman Scholar 20, has performed exceptionally well in securing the NELFUND school fees disbursement for the 2024/2025 academic session.

Upon his request for guidance on the process, I provided the necessary support. To my pleasant surprise, he exceeded my expectations, especially considering his new role as President. This achievement reflects his commitment and dedication to the welfare of FUGA students.

We sincerely appreciate Malam Muhammad Sa’id Suleiman, the NELFUND Desk Officer, ICT Director as well as bursary the department for their vital role in ensuring the successful disbursement.
