Matriculation Address: 6-8-2026
By the Provost, Bn Ballo College of Arts and Islamic Sciences
Dr. Ibrahim Ballo Alli Adelani
In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.
Bismillāhir-Raḥmānir-Raḥīm.
The Chairman and Members of the Governing Council, distinguished guests, respected scholars, members of management, academic and non-academic staff, esteemed parents and guardians, invited guests, members of the press, and above all, our newly admitted students.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa raḥmatullāhi wa barakātuh.
It is with profound gratitude to Almighty Allah that I warmly welcome you all to the Matriculation Ceremony of Bn Ballo College of Arts and Islamic Sciences. Today marks a significant milestone in the lives of our newly admitted students as they officially become members of this great institution.
On behalf of the Governing Council, Management, Staff, and Students of the College, I congratulate each and every one of you for earning admission into this noble institution. Your admission is not only a privilege but also a responsibility. You have joined a college committed to academic excellence, moral discipline, Islamic values, and the development of responsible leaders who will positively impact society.
Dear matriculating students, remember that education is not merely about obtaining certificates; it is about building character, acquiring knowledge, and serving humanity. Allah says in the Noble Qur’an:
> **“And say, ‘My Lord, increase me in knowledge.’”** *(Qur’an 20:114)*
This verse reminds us that seeking knowledge is a lifelong act of worship. Therefore, make every lecture, assignment, and examination an opportunity to draw closer to Allah and to develop yourselves intellectually and morally.
At Bn Ballo College, we expect every student to uphold the highest standards of discipline, honesty, respect, and integrity. There is no room for examination malpractice, cultism, drug abuse, indecent dressing, or any act capable of tarnishing the image of this institution. Let your conduct reflect the noble teachings of Islam.
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:
> **“The best among you are those who learn the Qur’an and teach it.”** *(Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī)*
As students of an institution dedicated to Arts and Islamic Sciences, you are ambassadors of knowledge and good character. Strive for excellence both inside and outside the classroom.
I encourage you to cultivate the habit of reading beyond your lecture notes, make effective use of the library and digital learning resources, participate in research and community service, and embrace innovation while remaining firmly rooted in Islamic ethics. The future belongs to those who combine knowledge with wisdom and technology with morality.
To our esteemed parents and guardians, I sincerely appreciate the confidence you have placed in our institution. We assure you that we shall continue to provide quality education and a conducive environment that nurtures both academic and spiritual excellence.
I also express my gratitude to our lecturers and members of staff for their unwavering dedication and commitment to the growth of this College. Your sacrifices continue to shape future generations.
To our dear students, your success begins today. Be punctual, be disciplined, be prayerful, and be committed to your studies. Respect your lecturers, obey the rules and regulations of the College, and always remember that your actions today will determine your future tomorrow.
As you take the Matriculation Oath today, I urge you to remain faithful to its principles and to the values of this institution. May Allah grant you wisdom, perseverance, and success throughout your academic journey.
Once again, I congratulate all our matriculating students and officially welcome you to the Bn Ballo College family.
May Allah bless you, bless this institution, and bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Thank you.
Wassalāmu ‘alaykum wa raḥmatullāhi wa barakātuh.
