Ponder on this:
Sitted with Aliko Dangote on his yatcht during the Salah holiday eating Salah meat and enjoying a cruise over Lagos waters are:
Femi Otedola
Segun Awolowo
Donald Duke
Charles Ahize
Tunde Ayeni
Sam Nwajokwu and
Aliko Dangote himself.
Now, sitted and enjoying each other's company in this yatcht are:
*Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo and an Efik man.*
Amongst them are Christians and Muslims but one thing is commom to all of them:
They are all BILLIONAIRES.
While the impoverished masses are breaking each other's heads and hating each other because of ethnic, religious and political orientations, these guys are consolidating and deciding which of their cronies to send out to control government for them.
I hope one day, people who create enemies for themselves on social media would realize their enemies are not those who practice different religion, who are of different ethnic group or different political persuasions.
The real war is between the HAVES & HAVE NOTS.

Happy Eid Mubarak to all Muslim faithfuls.

FG PROPOSES N105,000 MINIMUM WAGE

Finance Minister Wale Edun has proposed a new minimum wage of N105,000 to President Bola Tinubu, highlighting the financial implications. This presentation, made alongside Budget Minister Atiku Bagudu, occurred at the presidential villa in Abuja.

Following a meeting with President Tinubu, Edun confirmed the submission to State House correspondents and assured there was "no cause for alarm."

This action follows a 48-hour ultimatum from President Tinubu, who met with a government negotiation team led by Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume.

Earlier in the week, the Nigeria Labour Congress and Trade Union Congress launched a nationwide strike demanding a higher minimum wage and a reversal of increased electricity tariffs. The strike was suspended for five days after the government agreed to negotiate and finalize a new minimum wage within a week.

Nigeria’s old National Anthem

Nigeria we hail thee
Our own dear native land
Though tribes and tongue may differ
In brotherhood we stand
Nigerians all, are proud to serve
Our sovereign Motherland.

Our flag shall be a symbol
That truth and justice reign
In peace or battle honour'd,
And this we count as gain,
To hand on to our children
A banner without stain.

O God of all creation
Grant this our one request.
Help us to build a nation
Where no man is oppressed
And so with peace and plenty
Nigeria may be blessed.

PRESS RELEASE

The Great Ife Students' Union is deeply saddened to report an unfortunate incident which occurred this morning at the Amphi theatre as a result of a whirlwind.

It is sad to note that the whirlwind caused a damage to the ceiling covering at the Amphi theatre which sparked a collapse of some section of the ceiling resulting in injuries to a number of students who were in the SER 001 Class at the time.

Our preliminary assessment indicates that approximately six students were affected, with varying degrees of injuries. Some sustained injuries to the head, others to the legs, and some have incurred injuries to other parts of their bodies. Immediate action was taken, and every arm of the school management swiftly responded to the emergency.

We wish to assure the Great Ife community and the public that all necessary measures have been taken to ensure the safety and well-being of the affected students. Those in critical condition were promptly transported to the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex (OAUTHC) for urgent medical attention.

We are relieved to inform you that all students who were admitted to the OAUTHC are currently in stable condition and are responding positively to treatment. The university's medical team is providing them with the necessary care and support during this challenging time.

The Great Ife Students' Union extends its heartfelt gratitude to the entire university community, emergency responders, and medical personnel for their prompt response and dedication in addressing this unfortunate incident.

As we continue to prioritize the safety and welfare of our students, we urge everyone to remain vigilant and proactive in identifying and addressing potential safety hazards on campus.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the affected students for a speedy recovery, and we assure them of our unwavering support throughout their healing process. We however call on the federal government to pay serious attention to the funding of education most especially in the area of addressing dilapidated structures on our campuses.
