🌟 KWASU Alumni Career Talk Show 2026 – Inspiring Futures, Building Careers! 🌟

The Kwara State University Alumni Relations Unit successfully hosted the Alumni Career Talk Show 2026, an impactful event themed:

“Unveiling the Path for a Credible Career Opportunity.”

The programme brought together students, alumni, and distinguished professionals for an enriching session focused on career development, employability, leadership, and personal growth.

We were honoured by the presence of our Chief Host, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, ably represented by the university management, alongside the Director of Alumni Relations, Mr. Sanni Abdulrazaq, the Coordinator Alumni Relations Dr. Towoju Adedoyin John and our guest speaker, Mrs. Tosin Olaniyi, whose insightful presentation challenged participants to embrace continuous learning, develop relevant skills, and position themselves for success in today’s dynamic world.

The interactive discussions, practical career advice, and inspiring experiences shared throughout the programme reaffirmed KWASU’s commitment to producing graduates who are not only academically sound but also globally competitive and career-ready.

We sincerely appreciate everyone who attended and contributed to the success of this event. Together, we will continue to strengthen the bond between our alumni and the university while creating opportunities that empower our students to excel.

Another KWASU Alumnus Wins International Award

Mr. Usman Aliyu, an alumnus of the Department of Mass Communication, Kwara State University (KWASU), has joined the growing list of alumni recording remarkable professional achievements internationally.

Aliyu, an Assistant Chief Correspondent with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), won the 2025 continental award for Best Feature Article from the Federation of Atlantic Press Agencies (FAAPA).

The award was presented to him on Thursday, January 26, 2026 at the 9th General Assembly of the FAAPA held in Marrakech, Morocco for his compelling feature article titled "Swipe to Survive: How Digital Payments Tackle Youth Unemployment in Nigeria".

Reacting to the achievement, the Vice-Chancellor of Kwara State University, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, described the award as another confirmation of the quality of training and mentorship provided by the university.

"We are immensely proud of Mr. Usman Aliyu and all KWASU alumni who continue to distinguish themselves on global platforms," the Vice-Chancellor said, adding that the university will also continue to strengthen its academic programmes, practical training, and industry engagement to sustain this positive trajectory.
