Havilah College of Health Sciences and Technology, Ise-Ekiti, continues to record remarkable progress in its pursuit of academic excellence, institutional development, and regulatory compliance.

Following the successful approval by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) in February 2026, the College recently received an official inspection and monitoring visit from the Ekiti State Ministry of Education on 5th May 2026 as part of the State Government’s oversight and approval process for tertiary institutions in the state.

The inspection team, led by the Director of Tertiary Education, Ministry of Education, Ekiti State, Mr. Bobade Oluwole Ilesanmi, alongside other senior officials of the Ministry, conducted an extensive assessment of the College’s academic activities, infrastructural facilities, laboratories, clinic, CBT Centre, demonstration units, classrooms, and administrative structures.

The team highly commended the College’s infrastructural development, learning facilities, and commitment to quality health sciences education. Special recognition was given to the College CBT Centre, which was successfully utilized during the April 2026 JAMB examination.

This visit further confirms the growing recognition of Havilah College of Health Sciences and Technology as an emerging institution committed to professionalism, quality training, and compliance with both NBTE and Ekiti State Government standards.

Havilah College of Health Sciences and Technology, Ise-Ekiti, was ably represented at the 2026 JAMB Policy Meeting on Admissions into Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria held in Abuja.

Our participation at this national policy meeting further demonstrates the College’s commitment to compliance with Federal Government admission policies, JAMB regulations, CAPS procedures, and other approved guidelines governing tertiary education admissions in Nigeria.

The meeting provided an opportunity for critical deliberations on the 2026/2027 admission exercise, institutional best practices, admission standards, transparency in admissions, and regulatory compliance across tertiary institutions nationwide.

Havilah College of Health Sciences and Technology, Ise-Ekiti is a story of faith, vision, and perseverance. The idea began in 1985 when Pastor (Dr.) Emmanuel Oluwayemi started praying for the development of his hometown, Ise-Ekiti. At that time, the neighbouring local government areas of Emure and Ise/Orun had no higher institution, forcing many young people to travel far in search of tertiary education. For nearly forty years, he held on to the vision of establishing a school that would provide quality education and improve opportunities for the community.

In 2024, this long-standing dream became a reality with the establishment of Pilar College of Health Technology. The founders began the process of building the institution by securing land, recruiting qualified staff, and providing laboratory facilities for health-related training. As the vision expanded, the college was relocated to Ise-Ekiti, bringing the institution closer to the community that inspired its creation.

To reflect its broader mission and comply with regulatory requirements, the institution was later renamed Havilah College of Health Sciences and Technology. The name Havilah, meaning “Land of Gold,” symbolizes the college’s goal of nurturing valuable talents and producing highly skilled graduates.

The college held its first matriculation ceremony on March 20, 2025, officially welcoming its pioneer students. A major milestone followed in February 2026, when the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) granted federal approval for programmes such as Health Information Management, Public Health Technology, Medical Laboratory Technology, Community Health Technology, and Pharmacy Technician.

Today, Havilah College stands as a growing centre of health education, dedicated to developing competent, skilled, and morally grounded professionals for national and global service.
