For the first time since the establishment of Kaduna State University, a female has been elected President of the Student Representative Council (SRC).

Sumayyah Muhammad Sani has made history by emerging as the first female President of the Student Representative Council (SRC) at our prestigious institution.

Her emergence marks a significant milestone in the University's student leadership and stands as an unprecedented moment in the history of Kaduna State University.

To our newly elected Student Representative Council President, we celebrate this remarkable achievement and wish you every success as you assume this important responsibility.

On 6th July 2026, the leadership of the Kaduna State University Medical Students' Association (KASUMSA), led by its President, Comrade Faisal Salisu, paid a courtesy visit to the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Kaduna State Chapter.

During the visit, the KASUMSA President had the distinct honour of presenting the prestigious Mentor of the Year Award to Dr. Muhammad Gidado, a Consultant Psychiatrist at the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Barnawa, Kaduna.

The award was presented in recognition of Dr. Gidado's outstanding mentorship, unwavering commitment to professional development, and remarkable contributions to the growth and guidance of medical students and young professionals. His dedication to nurturing future healthcare practitioners continues to inspire excellence within the medical community.

The presentation was marked by an atmosphere of admiration, appreciation, and mutual respect, reflecting the profound impact of Dr. Gidado's mentorship and the shared commitment of both KASUMSA and the NMA to advancing medical education and leadership.
