Theatre Arts HOD, Faculty Examiner Inspire Students Ahead of Cultural Festival
The Department of Theatre Arts, Kaduna State University, today held an interactive meeting with students across all levels (100–400 Level) to emphasize the importance of active participation in the upcoming Faculty of Arts Cultural Festival.
The session was led by the Head of Department, Dr. Shamagana, alongside the Faculty Examiner, Mr. Adams, who both encouraged students to see the Cultural Festival as more than just an event, but as an extension of their classroom learning.
Addressing the students, the lecturers stressed that theatre education goes beyond lectures and examinations. They noted that practical experiences such as cultural performances, stage productions, and faculty events help students develop essential skills that cannot be fully acquired within the four walls of a classroom.
Mr. Adams particularly expressed his excitement over the department, representing Yoruba culture at the festival, describing it as an opportunity for students to showcase creativity, cultural appreciation, teamwork, and artistic excellence.
Also present at the meeting were the Faculty of Arts Social Director, Jabez, the Faculty Vice President, Salamatu Saidu, who further encouraged students to participate wholeheartedly and make the department proud during the festival.
The Department reaffirmed its commitment to producing graduates who are not only academically grounded but also practically equipped through active involvement in extracurricular and cultural activities.
Students were urged to embrace the opportunity, contribute their talents, and work together towards a successful representation of the department at the Faculty Cultural Festival.
