SETS UP NAKSS CARETAKER COMMITTEE

The Provost, Kano State College of Education and Preliminary Studies (KASCEPS/CAS), Kano, Associate Professor. Sunusi Yakubu Ahmad Ph.D, FCFA, MNAAE, FCFA, FIIPS, MNIM, has approved the Setting up of the National Association of Kano State Student (NAKSS) Caretaker Committee to run the affairs of the association until such a time that it is auspicious to conduct election into the several organ of association.

A statement signed by the Dean, Students' Affairs, Mal. Bashir Sa'ad named Mujahid Nura NCE20JSE150012, of the School of Art and Social Sciences as Chairman.

SHUGABA KWALEJIN ILIMI DA SHARE FAGEN SHIGA JAMI'A YA ƘARRAMA ƊAN MAJALISA TARAYYA MAI WAKILTAR KANANAN HUKUMOMI ƘUNCHI DA TSANYAWA

Shugaban Kwalejin ilimi da share fagen shiga jami'a ta Kano, Muƙaddashin Farfesa. Sanusi Yakubu Ahmad, Ph.D, MNAAE, FCFA, FIIPS, MNIM, Ya karrama ɗan majalisar tarayya mai wakiltar kananan hukumomin Kunchi/Tsanyawa a zauren majalissar tarayyar Nijeriya Hon. Dr. Engr Sani Bala Tsanyawa Saboda da gamsuwa da kyautata ayyuka wanda dalilin haka ya ginawa Kwalejin katafaren (Block) mai ɗauke da azuzuwa guda shida a cikin sa a reshen kwalejin dake Kunchi (Kunchi Campus).

Shugaban tare da wasu jiga-jigan kwalejin sun bada kyautar karramar a jiya a Asabar a cikin birnin Kano.

Sunusi Yakubu Bichi, ya bada kyautar karramawar ne bisa la'akari da yadda ɗan majalisar yayi zarra kuma ya zama abin misali wajen yiwa al'ummar ƙananan hukumomin dake wakilta aiki bilhaƙƙi da gaskiya wanda haka yasa itama Kwalejin ta rabauta da wannan katafaren gini wanda al'ummar ƙananan hukumomin dama jihar Kano zasu amfana dashi.

“An samar da wannan kyautar karramawar ne bisa sahihiyar hujjar nasarorin da ka samu a sassa daban-daban na na wakilcin ka.

“Za a ba wannan karramawa ne saboda kun yi zarra wajen yi wa al’umma aiki kuma ku ka ba da gudunmawa ga kawo canji mai ma’ana a yankunan ku.

“Wannan abin koyi ne ga wakilai dama shugabannin yanzu da masu zuwa nan gaba domin su ƙara himma wajen aikin ciyar da yan kunan su dama jihar Kano gaba” Associate Prof. Sunusi Yakubu Bichi

A jawabin sa jim kaɗa bayan ya karɓar kyautar karramawa, Engr. Sani Bala Tsanyawa, ya bayyana jin daɗi da aka zaɓe sa kuma aka ba sa wannan kyautar.

Ya ce: “Wannan wani muhimmin zango ne, musamman a rayuwa ta, domin wannan karramawa shaida ce ƙarara dake nuni da gamsuwar da aka yi da ‘yan nasarorin da na samu a wajen ayyukan da nake yiwa jama’a na tsawon wakilcin su da nake har zuwa yanzu..."

Ina so in ƙara jaddada matuƙar godiya ga mai girma Shugaban wannan kwalejin tamu, saboda damar da ya ba ni na yi al'ummar mu wannan aiki wanda zamu jina muna morarsa. ta hanyar wannan wakikcin na yi ƙoƙarin bautata wa ɗimbin mutane waɗanda ke cikin buƙatar a inganta rayuwar su da taimakon su."

A bayanin sa na ƙarshe ƙarshe, ɗan majalissar yasha alwashin ci gaba da malalawa Kwalejin ayukan aikhairi ina al'ummomin yankin sa dama jihar Kana baki ɗaya zasu ci amfana.

Manufar kyautar karramawar dai itace a karrama muhimman ayyuka da Kwalejin Ilimi da share fagen shiga jami'a ta Kano (KASCEPS), ta hanyar jama'a ɗaidai ku.

LIVESTOCKS NATIONAL CONFERENCE:

The Provost, Kano State College of Education and Preliminary Studies (KASCEPs), Associate Professor. Sunusi Yakubu Ahmad Ph.D, MNAAE, FCFA, FIIPS, MNIM, attended the National Conference on livestock reforms on the back of farmer/herder clashes, organised by the Committee set up by the Executive Governor of Kano State, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje OFR, (Khadimul Islam).

A conference with the theme, "Sustainable Livestock Reforms and Mitigation of Associate Conflicts in Nigeria: Farmers/Headers Clashes", would hold on Monday and Wednesday, February 13th and 15th, 2023, in Abuja.

The primary objective of the conference is to bring together a range of stakeholders for cross-fertilisation of ideas with regards to how to reform the livestock sector in this country for significant value addition to the economy of Nigeria and also how to ensure that such reforms are sustainable, and they also promote social cohesion rather than conflicts.

Former Chairman of the Independent National National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Attahiru Jega, is the Chairperson of the Committee.

UNDER THE ADMINISTRATION OF ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR. SUNUSI YAKUBU AHMAD Ph.D, MNAAE, FCFA. (THE GREAT ACHIEVER, THE ARCHITECT OF MODERN CAS KANO), KANO COLLEGE OF EDUCATION AND PRELIMINARY STUDIES BEATS 56 IJMB INSTITUTIONS IN EXAMINATION CONDUCT, PERFORMANCE, 2019.

Kano State College of Education and Preliminary Studies, under the administration of Associate Professor. Sunusi Yakubu Ahmad, is rated as the best among Fifty Six (56) institutions affiliated to Interim Joint Matriculation Examination Board (IJMB) in terms of good behaviour in examination conduct and students performance in the 2019 examination.

In a report put together by the College under the headship of Dr Sunusi Yakubu Ahmad, the Provost, quoted the Chief Supervisor of the IJMB Exams, Mr Matthew Ahmed, commending the College for the high level of discipline exhibited by students during exams and the higher level of dedication and commitment by staff.
The report shows that, out of the total number of students 1,017 who sat for the examination, 594 were males and 423 were females. The exam was conducted between 29th January to 12th February, 2019.

Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje's commitment towards repositioning of education sector in the state, proves workable and practicable with the good results recorded by the College among many other areas.

Result shows that, the College recorded 80 to 100 percent pass in 13 out of the 17 'A Level' subjects that were offered by the IJMB. Which further analysis shows that 699 students, that is 68.73 percent of the total 1,017 students scored the minimum university entry requirements into Level 200, of 8 and above points.

Another distinguishing feature of 2019 IJMB result in the College shows that 7 students scored 16 points (A3). While 27 of them scored 15 points (A2 B) and 665 of the students who sat for the IJMB exams scored 8-14 points.

By way of appreciating the commendable and committed treatment of the College by the state government under Dr Ganduje, the management of the College expresses its appreciation and gratitude to Ganduje for his unrelenting support of education sector in the state.

While acknowledging his support and dedication towards achieving quality education in the state generally, the report says "We are grateful for all the support that the state government has been rendering to the College."
It continues "The approval for taking over of Youth Development Centre at Independence road to cover about 3,500 students, Amana College of Education Kunchi and Government Commercial Secondary School, Airport road, as Demonstration Secondary School, Kano."

Ganduje's coming to power gave room for the College to get an established Law, since 1987. There was an attempt to that effect in 2004, but some bottlenecks erupted which caused the stoppage of the process.

But in 2018 under Ganduje administration, not only Law, it also included into it College of Education. Which gives the state an opportunity to have another College of Education. This goes a long way in strengthening teacher development

It was the Kano State College of Education and Preliminary Studies Law, 2018 (1439 AH), K.S. Law No. 5 of 2018. The College of Education is approved by the National Commission of Colleges of Education (NCCE), as well as IJMB Board.

Governor Ganduje's strive towards academic excellence in the College attracts an intervention from the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) on training and infrastructural development. An award letter for the intervention has already been secured by the Provost.

"We are only responding positively to the call by His Excellency, the Governor, on promoting quality education, especially in science-based courses," Dr Ahmad emphasised.

Students performance in the College skyrockets on annual basis. For example, in the year 2018 total number of students who passed Chemistry were 72 percent, while in the year 2019 they rose to 89.5 percent. In Economics students percentage who passed in 2018, was 61.40 percent, while in 2019 the percentage increases to 82.10 percent.

In Islamic Studies in 2018 the percentage of those who passed was 58 percent, while in 2019 it increases tremendously up to 92.05 percent. In Government in 2018 the percentage stood at 41.84, while in 2019 it moves speedily up to 80.33 percent.

The A level courses go with tremendous feats. In Arabic the percentage in 2018 was 70 percent, it rose to 100 percent in 2019. In Business Management the performance of the students in 2018 was 51 and moved upward to 69 percent in 2019

Students performance stood at 90 percent in 2018 and rose to 91.6 percent in 2019. So also in Geography students performance in 2018 was 76.30 percent and became 80.33 percent in 2019.

On general analysis of the 2019 IJMB result, it shows that the percentages of all the courses offered as 'A' level students performed wonderfully well. For example, 87.76 percent passed in Mathematics, 93.42 percent passed in Sociology and History students recorded 100 percent. As Geology students recorded 100 percent and Biology students passed with 98.52 percent.
