The stage is set for an exciting moment of unity, sportsmanship.

The Postgraduate Students' Association, Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University, Makurdi (PGSA) proudly introduces itself as a body of vibrant scholars, researchers, innovators, and future leaders committed to academic excellence and holistic development. Beyond research, seminars, and intellectual engagement, we believe in fostering unity, wellness, and collaboration within our great university community.
In this spirit, we warmly announce a friendly football match between the distinguished Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), JOSTUM Chapter, and the energetic PGSA, JOSTUM.
This novelty match is more than just a game — it is a celebration of partnership between mentors and mentees, teachers and scholars, experience and aspiration. It represents strengthened relationships between academic staff and postgraduate students, Promots physical wellness and work-life balance, encouragement of unity beyond the lecture halls and laboratories

Today, I formally assumed office as the President of the Postgraduate Students Association of Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University, Makurdi (formerly Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi).

I am deeply honoured by the trust placed in me by postgraduate students, and I do not take this responsibility lightly. This mandate represents service, accountability, and commitment to collective progress.

As I begin this journey, I reaffirm my belief in transparency, effective communication, strategic partnerships, and inclusive leadership. My administration will also be guided by integrity, fairness, accountability, professionalism, and results-driven service delivery.

Our focus will be on strengthening academic and research support systems, improving student welfare and wellbeing, expanding capacity building and career development opportunities, and ensuring open and accessible leadership. We will also pursue collaborations that enhance research exposure, academic networking, and institutional engagement for postgraduate students.

Postgraduate education comes with unique academic, financial, and research-related difficulties. Recognizing these realities is the first step toward building practical, enduring solutions that support students from admission to graduation and beyond.

This administration is committed to building a postgraduate community that is academically empowered, professionally competitive, welfare-conscious, and institutionally respected. However, meaningful progress requires collective participation. I encourage all postgraduate students of Jostum to stay engaged, contribute constructively, and work together to strengthen our association.

PGSA-JOSTUM is the official representative body for postgraduate students at Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University in Makurdi. We unite master’s and doctoral candidates across faculties to champion welfare, research opportunities, professional development, and a thriving campus life tailored to postgraduate needs.
