Recently, I had the privilege of speaking at the Labspace Nigeria iDICE Founders Lab Demo Day, where I delivered a keynote on "Positioning Niger State as a Startup and Digital Enterprise Corridor."
Standing before founders, innovators, policymakers, and ecosystem builders, one thought kept resonating with me:
The future of our states will not only be determined by what lies beneath the ground, but by what we empower people to build above it.
Across Nigeria, we have an incredible opportunity to create environments where young people can innovate, build businesses, solve local challenges, and create jobs—not just for themselves, but for others.
Niger State has many of the ingredients needed to become a thriving startup and digital enterprise hub. With intentional leadership, collaboration between government and the private sector, investment in digital skills, and the right infrastructure, we can unlock opportunities that will benefit generations to come.
What encouraged me most at the event was seeing brilliant founders with bold ideas and the determination to build solutions for real problems. They are a reminder that Nigeria's greatest resource has always been its people.
Thank you to the organisers for the invitation and for creating a platform that brings together innovators and changemakers. Conversations like these are important because every thriving ecosystem begins with people willing to imagine a different future and work together to make it a reality.
I remain optimistic about what is possible, not just for Niger State, but for Nigeria as a whole.
The future belongs to those who build it.
