Prof. Augustina Ukamaka Okonkwo: Pioneering Leadership in Environmental Sciences at COOU

Prof. Augustina Ukamaka Okonkwo is the Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Sciences at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) and the first substantive professor and first female professor in the faculty. A passionate academic and dynamic researcher, she specializes in environmental disaster management, gender issues, and waste-to-wealth solutions. Prof. Okonkwo holds a PhD in Environmental Management (2009) and has an extensive academic background. She has mentored countless students and is dedicated to advancing sustainable environmental practices. Her leadership extends beyond academics; she plays a key role in shaping the future of environmental sciences at COOU. Prof. Okonkwo’s achievements and contributions make her a trailblazer in the field and a true inspiration to both her colleagues and students. Under her leadership, the faculty is poised to make significant strides in addressing environmental challenges.
