Federal University of Petroleum Resources (FUPRE) The V.C is Prof. Ezekiel O. Agbalagba. Fupre is the first of it's kind in Africa & d 6th in d world. It was founded in 2007 @ Effurun, Delta State.

The Logo of the university combines four elements: one, the gear wheel symbolizing Technology; two, the blue section representing sea/ocean characterising the physical environment of Niger Delta;three, an open book which is traditionally a symbol of knowledge; and four, the flame of enlightenment. The colours of the University are black and dusty gold. The blackrepresents the black gold (crude oi

l), the major mineral resource in the area. The dusty gold represents downstream products of the petroleum industry: gas, petrol, diesel, kerosene, etc.
