📌 SSANU EMERGENCY CONGRESS UPDATE
Today, our Branch Emergency Congress was successfully held to brief members on the latest developments regarding the suspended strike action and the ongoing renegotiation between the Federal Government and NASU/SSANU.

In his address, the Branch Chairman Comr Oye Ake sincerely appreciated all members for their total cooperation, discipline, compliance, and unwavering solidarity throughout the strike period. He commended members for standing firm with the union during the struggle.
Members were briefed on the latest update from the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of NASU and SSANU following the resumption of negotiations with the Federal Government on the 2009 FGN/NASU/SSANU Agreement.
The Chairman further disclosed that the ongoing renegotiation contains many promising benefits for members, including a proposed salary and allowance increase of about 40%, alongside additional welfare packages such as wardrobe allowance, high-risk allowance, and other improved staff benefits.
Members were encouraged to remain hopeful and united, as the successful conclusion of the agreement is expected to usher in improved welfare and better working conditions for university workers.
Members also appreciated the union leadership for their resilience, transparency, and commitment to the collective interest of staff.
