*Kogi State Vigilante Service (KSVS) Delivered Security Tips Lecture at College of Agriculture, Kabba on 3rd December, 2025*

College of Agriculture, Kabba hosted Security Tips Lecture delivered by the Sector Commander of the Kogi State Vigilante Service (KSVS), Superintendent Alabi Samuel. The session began with opening address by the Provost, Prof. F. A. Ayanlere. She emphasized the importance of proactive safety measures within academic environments.

Superintendent Samuel Alabi commended His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo for extending security coverage to tertiary institutions. He highlighted key security practices necessary for maintaining a safe and conducive learning atmosphere. These include:

1. Recognizing security as a collective responsibility.

2. Ensuring information not withheld when safety is concerned.

3. Managing access control through the use of tags and identity cards.

4. Maintaining proper visitors register.

5. Improving the lighting system in campus. especially at night.

6. Introducing CCTV cameras to enhance surveillance.

7. Ensuring prompt dissemination of important security information.

8. Strengthening synergy with security agencies.

9. Regular sensitization of students on safety measures.

10. Acting professionally and calmly during emergencies.

11. Halting late-hour lectures to reduce vulnerability.

12. Switching off lights when indoors to avoid drawing unnecessary attention.

Superintendent Samuel concluded by appreciating the Provost for the opportunity to engage the College community on vital security matters. In her closing remarks, the Provost also expressed gratitude to the Sector Commander and all staff present for their commitment to improving campus safety.
