Tuesday 9.00 – 20.00 a.m
Wednesday 9.00 – 17.00 a.m

Friday 9.00 – 17.00 a.m
During the building of the en
dexam exhibition, the WWS is exclusively opened for endexam-students. Therefore we like to offer you a few options for our guidance. Quick→ do it yourself; When you already have a plan (including sketch and sizes!),know how to choose and use material and tools, you’re allowed to work in the WWS by yourself. Sometimes we pass by and ask you if everything is working-out as planned. Safety; Apart from our guidance there are a few very important safety-rules to be kept in the WWS.
• No alcohol in the workplace
• Bind long hair together
• Do not wear shawls, gloves or loose fabrics which can get stuck in the machines
• Work with closed hands, don’t stick out fingers
• When the WWS-instructor thinks you’re not working safely (for yourself, machines or others), you will have to follow his/her instructions or leave the WWS. Big (stationary) machines; If you want to use one of the big machines (sawing) you’ll have to be instructed first. After the instruction the instructor sometimes gives you permission to use the machine on your own. This permission depends on the skills you’re showing. The big plate-saw shall usually be controlled by the instructor. Never switch on a big machine without permission. Always make a sketch of the object you want to make; a sketch with sizes shows us exactly what you mean. This works much faster and gives us the possibility to help more students! To buy and order material;
We hold a lot of solid wood and plate-material on stock in several sizes. In the WWS we have fixed a lot of pieces as examples on plates, prices are added. Use them to make your choice and/or calculate the costs. We also sell sanding paper, nails, screws etc. Without money (no cash, but studentcard) you cannot work with material from the WWS. Complete plates, beams and special wood is kept behind locked doors. You can ask the instructor for it. If you need something special or a big amount of something, we can order it for you. Together we write down what you need and note your name and phone number. Please notice it takes at least a week before it’s delivered. When the order is delivered we call you and expect you to come the same day to collect or store your delivery. From the moment the material has arrived you’re responsible for it. You’re allowed to use second-hand wood as long as you are absolutely sure there are no nails or other pieces of metal in the wood. This can damage the machines and we have to hold you responsible for costs. To borrow tools; When u need tools or machines to work in another part of the academy you can borrow them from the toolotheek. Stocking work in progress; Sometimes it’s not possible to finish your work in one day. It’s ok to leave it (on the side) in the WWS if you’re sure to go on the next day and if there is enough space. Clearing up your own mess seems naturally but unfortunately that’s not the case. We share a small space and time in the WWS, if everybody would clean-up their own mess we can work more efficient and the instructors will be smiling at you all day ;-) For after all we really prefer to help students instead of cleaning up! So please, throw garbage in the bin and put back tools where they belong. Tell us if something is broken so we can repair it. When you have wishes or remark, please let us know, personally or by mail [email protected]
See you at the Wood Workshop! Ief, Stephanie & Michiel
