A relaxed session to reflect on your goals, habits, and direction beyond academics.
Take a moment to think about what truly matters, what you want to achieve, and what makes you happy.
We’ll provide magazines and supplies but feel free to bring anything personal (photos, markers, tape, etc.).

On the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Horizon will be organizing a lunch lecture by designer Simon Dogger. He will share his personal journey where he adjusted his life and studies after he lost his sight. His mission now is to improve inclusivity of design practices and design education, specifically for people with visual impairments.

As first lecture of the Accessability Week join us for an inspiring talk by Paralympic champion André van Buiten on the development of accessibility and technology in sports. André is a Dutch swimmer and multiple Paralympic champion. Born without a right underarm, he amassed ten medals across three different Paralympic Games. Currently, André is still active in sports as a referee and enjoys his early retirement as a parttime taxi driver for people with disabilities.

In his talk, Andre shares his insights on how awareness has increased in sports and the rest of society. What areas have seen improvement, and which still require enhancement?

♿🌟 ACCESSABILITY WEEK
Horizon and Studable are thrilled to bring you AccessAbility Week once again, from March 25th to April 1st!

This year's theme, "Inclusion in Action: From Awareness to Change," highlights the importance of turning awareness into tangible progress. Spanning two calendar weeks, the event symbolizes the flexibility and continuous effort needed to support students with disabilities, chronic conditions, or neurodivergence.

We warmly invite all TU Delft staff and students to participate in the various activities, such as lunch talks, workshops and a photo exhibition. Discover personal stories, learn about the support TU Delft offers, and find out how you can contribute to accessible and inclusive education. Together, we can transform TU Delft into a place where everyone has equal opportunities and feels welcome. Your involvement makes the difference!

📸 Call for participants

Are you a member of the TU Delft community living with a disability or navigating accessibility challenges? We’re looking for you! 🫵🏽

As part of Accessibility Week, we are curating a heartfelt mini photo exhibition in the Aula that celebrates the incredible diversity of individuals on our campus. Whether your story involves physical or mental disabilities, specialized support like service animals, or unique accessibility experiences, we would love to hear from you!

👉🏽 What’s involved?
· A portrait session to capture your essence (anonymity can be creatively maintained if preferred). The portraits will be on display throughout the Accessibility Week
· A short piece of text sharing your story—how your experiences have shaped your life and what makes you unique. Don’t worry, we’re happy to help with the writing process!
· A printed A1/A0 version of your portrait + story to keep after the exhibition.

Deadline: January 25th.
Photo sessions: February & March.
