Introducing the PhD Safe Space Sweet Campaign at LUMC! ๐ŸŽ‚

As part of our ongoing commitment to advocate for social safety at Leiden University Medical Center, we are proud to launch the PhD Safe Space Sweet campaign! This initiative gives PhD candidates the chance to thank those who have had a positive and meaningful impact on their academic journeyโ€”whether through support, encouragement, or just being there when it mattered most.

๐ŸŽ‰ First Winner Announcement: Thijs van Osch, Professor in Radiology! Thijs has been recognized for his exceptional kindness and consistent support to his PhD candidates.

๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Award Presented by Jan Schoones
The award was presented in collaboration with the Graduate School Council, and while the Dean of the LUMC, Marlies Reinders, was unable to attend this first edition, Jan W. Schoones from the Graduate School Council joined us to help celebrate the importance of a supportive academic environment.

๐ŸŒŸ Nominate Your Safe Space Hero!
Do you know someone who has made a difference in your PhD journey? It could be a fellow PhD candidate, a supervisor, a librarian, or anyone at LUMC who has been there for you. Nominate them for the next PhD Safe Space Sweet, to be awarded in March. Share their story and letโ€™s celebrate the unsung heroes of academia!
