Continuing with the academic spirit today, our committee has been hard at work behind the scenes organizing another event surrounding Refugee Camps in East Africa.
On the 6th of May in room 3.48 of Wijnhaven, please join us from 16:00 onwards for an extremely important discussion covering the long-term social, political, and economic impacts of refugee camps in East Africa.
Around 22% of the world’s refugee population lives in refugee camps. Although refugee camps are often conceived as temporary solutions providing immediate shelter, many become long-term settlements.
With esteemed speakers Dr. Berckmoes and Dr. Jansen, join us as we explore questions such as: How do refugee camps shape experiences internally and externally? To what extent does humanitarian politics transform local communities?
