The Social Fiction Design Competition is an exciting global competition looking for students and young people to re-imagine and create for themselves a world without social problems. Participants will take real social challenges and share fictional solutions. The concept of Social Fiction empowers imagination beyond boundaries and provokes critical and creative thinking skills to combat pressing social issues.
Submission Categories:
1. Writing: Short paragraph or essay that relates to a story about a possible future without social problems.
2. Rhetoric: A recorded short speech on how the solution on a particular social problem can lead to a new society.
3. Illustration: Showcase your creativity through a Drawing or Graphic Design of their Social Fiction theme to address your social problem.
4. Animation: Based on a script relating to tackling social problems or a new future without social problems.
5. Cinematography: Creating their own movie, shot however they want to by adhering to the concept of a Social Fiction.
6. Poster presentation: Awareness posters demonstrating the social problem and a reimagined reality without those problems.

If you have an idea to tackle any of these sustainable development goals in Asia or Oceania in general, or in your country or community in particular, JOIN SOCIAL IDEATHON!

This is an accelerated program over the course of two months where you will receive leadership and project design training, group mentoring and skill based workshops that are specific to your project idea. At the end of the program you will be invited to pitch your project idea to access funding. The top twenty ideas will be awarded a mini grant of $250 USD and the opportunity to accelerate their project to scale.

“Startup Huddle” is back!

We are glad to introduce our speaker for the session, Priya Sigdel, Co-founder/President: Hatti Hatti Nepal (Non-formal and Tailoring training to underprivileged women of Nepal) Youth Changemaker from Switzerland,India and Bangladesh.

Miss Nepal Earth 2018, Priya has represented Nepal in national and international platforms, and recently in 2020 was the only Nepali out of 50 international delegates to represent Nepal in online Youth Istanbul Project that took place from Turkey. Her contributions has reached far and wide and during the pandemic Ms. Sigdel worked for Waste Workers Emergency Relief and directed the documentary on Waste workers' life.
