We were pleased to feature Ms. Aayusha Upreti, Research Assistant at Kathmandu Institute of Applied Sciences, who presents her impactful research on the environmental
consequences of plastic mulching in Nepal’s mountainous agricultural systems.
Her study, published in the Q1 journal Journal of Sustainable Agriculture and Environment
(Wiley), highlights the growing concern of microplastic pollution and its implications on soil health, emphasizing the urgent need for sustainable farming practices and eco-friendly
alternatives.
