UCM Monthly: Moments That Matter
Each month, we share photos and the stories behind them.

A throwback to last year when our new DTI motor and inverter package arrived for UCM25.

After months of preparation, the team wasted no time getting stuck in. Within two days of receiving the kit, the team had motors spinning. This was a pivotal step during the development of the UCM25 car as we closed in on first drive.

This would not of been possible without the work of who produced the package, but also raised the bar for FS drivetrains and usability.
Thank you for your support.

UCM Monthly: Moments That Matter
Each month, we share a photo and the story behind it.

This one was taken just before our autocross run at Formula SAE Australasia 2025.

After issues in the previous event, the final morning of competition turned into a race to get the car to the start line before it closed. We made it there with only minutes to spare, just enough to get both drivers out. Our first driver put in a banking lap, then our second driver went out and set the fastest time of the entire competition.

Sadly, because of the late start penalty, we came away with 2nd in autocross, missing what would have been UCM’s first ever autocross win. Even so, just making it out on track felt like a victory, and that result played a major part in securing our overall EV win.

UCM Monthly: Moments That Matter
Each month, we’ll share a photo and the story behind it.

This was taken on a Sunday afternoon, three days out from the Formula SAE Australasian Competition.

That morning, the car was not driving. We had already been off track for a few long days working through issues. With Wednesday approaching, in Australia and away from the comfort of our own workshop, the pressure was very real and the team was tired.

Getting back out there and seeing the car move again felt like a huge victory.

There is an incredible amount of work behind every system on the car, and sometimes one small issue is enough to stop everything. Finding it, fixing it, and getting back out there gave us the momentum we needed.

And we carried that momentum into comp week!
