Listen to Ecology PhD student, Jacqui, on the Rewilding in Action podcast talking about how urban green spaces, created and maintained by Dunedin City Council, can act as stepping stones for biodiversity through the city. 🌿🦋

A great example of how ecology in action enhances urban nature, city beauty, and human wellbeing.

Our ECOL111 field trip to Portobello Peninsula was a great day for finding rare spiders! 🕸

📷 Giant goblin spider, a rare species with just six eyes, making it especially unusual. 👀

These spiders are highly vulnerable to disturbance, and their presence suggests populations that pre‑date human arrival in Aotearoa.

Ngā mihi to James Croft-Bennett for the find, ID and photo.
